Thanks to Iona Murphy: I thought the show was absolutely astounding and it was a completely mindblowing experience as it was my first concert ever! The Datsuns were pretty good but were limp in comparision to Velvet Revolver. It was very pleasing to hear Sex Type Thing being played live as I am more of a Stone Temple Pilots fan than a Guns N Roses one. Scott Weiland is probably one of the most charismatic frontmen around today; that guy is just plain hot sex on legs! Slash completely lives up his legendary status and Duff is fucking cool. I'm going to see them in June for my 15th birthday and I can not wait at all!!!! Rock on guys and get the second album out soon.

Thanks to Ali: Excellent show, the crowd were up for it from the start. The place was jam packed. The SECC is a crap venue as for the sound. It was fucking awful. The guy on the desk should have been shot. Velvet Revolver play these venues a lot so they should be able to get the sound right. Still the video cameras made it good. I believe the sound down front was excellent, but only a maniac would have attempted the mosh pit.

Thanks to Chris Strachan: The band are true fucking rock 'n' roll. It's the best gig I've been to and it was just brill. Slash was just so fucking coool with his Les Paul and his B.C Rich. The guy is amazing the band were amazing they fucking rocked. Duff is a true bass player a true fucking rocker. Matt is amazing on drums it was soooooooooooooooo hard core. Scott was a true fucking front man. I got the knicker and I got Slash's pick man. I fucking thank you guys for coming over. You guys are what we need to bring rock back. You are the Daddies of rock and always will be. Thank you man. I've been waiting for a long time for you guys to come over here. My e-mail is Slash@hotmail.com

Thanks to Big J: What a night kicked off with Sucker Train Blues what a way to start a gig and it just got better and better the intro to It's So Easy gave it away. But the crowd still went ballistic then the dreaded drum solo but by half way through every one realised it was heading into Mr Brownstone. And what a way to finish Slither need I say more. They came, played and conquered. It was just a shame the biggest roars from the crowd were for the GNR songs come on boys get that second album out and make everone forget GNR existed. Velvet Revolver hottest band on the planet.

Thanks to Ross H: Well it was my first time seeing them live...I thought was good night. I thought "You Got No Right" was superb...and "Crackerman", I'll see if I can post a clip of show in the near future. :)

Thanks to Garry fae Dundee: Having attended concerts for 25 years this had to have one of the worst sounds which was a pity as the songs are great and the band put on a great show. Either the sound man gets the finger out or concerts shouldn't be played at this venue.

Thanks to Action: Can I just say that having been witness to some of the greatest live acts of recent times I would rate last weeks Velvet Revolver gig up at the top! As for those on this page who think the sound at this gig was bad...you couldn't be further from the truth. I've seen theDdatsuns 5 times now and that was the worst sound quality I've ever heard from them. So I was dreading the Velvet Revolver set for fear that it would make them sound bad....it didn't and anyone who disagrees was either i) not at the gig ii)too far back iii) fuckin stupid!

Thanks to Kenny B: The gig was absolute quality, the boys put on a fine show, I also thought the sound was very good, the guy who left halfway through must have been a total tosser.

Thanks to Sparky8_89: Simply the best performance in the history of music. The best thing I have ever seen or heard. The Datsuns were alright but nothing compared to Velvet Revolver. Mr Brownstone and Slither was the perfect finale. Scott writhed about the stage from start to finish, Duff and Dave were brilliant, Matt had an amazing night and Slash is Slash. There's nothing else to describe him. Thank you Velvet Revolver for the night of my life.

Thanks to Ben Millar: This show was the dogs bollocks!!! Absolutely amazing, from start to finish. When they opened with Sucker Train Blues, everyone knew the night was goin to be amazing! The Datsuns were a good support band and I think the crowd enjoyed them, especially Harmonic Generator. When Velvet Revolver took to the stage the place went nuts, when they played Crackerman, I'm not sure if many people recognised it, but even those who didn't really enjoyed it.

I loved Fall To Pieces, Slither, Dirty Little Thing, Used To Love Her and all the wee solos done by each member. Scott is an amazing frontman, Dave is a excellent guitarist, Duff is amazing, Slash is a complete legend and Matt is one of the greates rock drummers around. I thought the sound was fine, I was really near the front and thought it was good. I liked Scott and his megaphone, I thought that was well good. Then Slash put on his top hat and lit a fag! The band looked like they enjoyed themselves, can't wait fot the new album and next time they tour. Thanks for a great gig!

Thanks to Dave: Incredible!!!!!! Like lot of fans there was a big Guns fans but never got to see them when they were around, but Velvet Revolver made that wait worth while. Was completely blown away as Sucker Train Blues kicked in. Like a bomb exploded as the first power chord was struck. Yeah!

Woke up next morning unable to move my neck and one hell of a smile on my face. Highlights for me were Sucker Train Blues, It's So Easy and Slither. An unbelievable night by a band that are outstanding in their own right and not for the bands they once played in. Hope they are back for the festival season. The greatest Rock and Roll show in my life time. How cool was Duff. He da man.

Thanks to Steven R: I went to the Glasgow show and I thought it was fucking amazing and the sound was quality. People who keep sending messages in saying your sound was crap is because you were probably being pussys and were at the back being boring bastards. It's a rock and roll gig and you are meant to have a shit hot time. So stop your moaning and be thankful that you saw legends. rock and roll

Thanks to Lofthus: Shit hot performance from Velvet Revolver, but what happened to the sound? The support band had quite a good clear sound. The Velvet Revolver sound was as if they were playing inside a tin can. We were standing at the back of the hall next to the mixing area. We thought the bass drum was too boomy, vocals, snare and cymbals too hissy. We couldn't make out most of Slash's soloing. A bit dissapointed with the sound but a great performance from both bands and the fans.

Thanks to Alan: These guys certainly know how to put on a show, they blew Glasgow away with their on stage antics, Scott stealing the show from Slash, he's like a snake with a Gestapo hat and a megaphone ... eat that Harry!

Sound was average (as always at the SECC) but the energy, lights and performance was breathtaking.

Got to say that they need another couple of decent songs of their own tho'. A lot of the tracks they played in the middle sounded very similar. Get writing lads !!

Datsuns best support I have ever seen...

Thanks to David Hendry: What can I say!? This was the first time I've saw Velvet Revolver live as I missed the Carling Academy gig! The Datsuns were ok at the most, the sound was awful! But when Velvet Revolver took the stage I was completely blown away! The huge crowd surges were awesome and several of us fell in the middle of it! Being on the front rail for the best part of the gig was amazing! Slash was absolutely amazing, Scott put on the most memorable gig I've ever saw!! Can't wait for the next album and the next show!!!

Thanks to Nig: I never thought the Carling gig could be topped by anything ever! How fuckin wrong could I be???? Thanks, please keep playing Scotland.

Thanks to Marc: This was the greatest f**ckin show of all time. The atmosphere in the hall was uncontrollable and the band were beyond words. Can't wait to see them again and I recommend that everyone goes to see them. rock n' f' roll

Thanks to Majooka: What can you say to follow a gig like that........ fuckin awesome.

Datsuns started off the show with a mutha fuckin helluva show, with songs like MF From Hell really getting the crowd moving. I hadn't really listened to the Datsuns before the gig, but today I went out and bought the album, they really pleased me.

But of course, Velvet Revolver were amazing. The atmosphere was much superior to that of their last gig at the Carling Academy, the whole crowd appreciating the music as one. One downfall of this however, was that the enthusiasm and energy of the crowd had to last for the whole gig and those of us with smaller lungs (not me of course.....) were forced to become a little less energetic during the middle of the show.

Perfect setlist order also, kicking off with the anthemic Sucker Train Blues and ending with probably the best GnR song of the night followed by the one that everyone knew was coming last. The crowd simply erupted into a frenzied wave, with the 30+ audience feeling like they were 15 again.

Best gig I've been to, judging by atmosphere, however, the sound quality wasn't exactly excellent due to the size of the venue compared to last time. Look forward to their next show in Glasgow... fingers crossed!

It's also worth the brag...... I caught Slash's towel. :P

Thanks to David Drysdale: I had the pleasure of see Velvet Revolver in Glasgow last year when they played the academy and they were very good. However the Glasgow gig on Friday 14th was probably the worst sounding gig I have had to endure. It was so loud you could not hear anything. The vocals were completely non exisistant. We left an hour into the Velvet Revolver set and as a regular concert attender this is completely unheard of. The sound desk must take full responsabilty for this as the sound for The Datsuns was pretty good.

Thanks to Paul Markie: I'd just like to say that Velvet Revolver totally rocked that night and it was truely the best and most enjoable day of my life. I've been to several concerts in my life and will still be going to them however I think that nothing can come close to this. Slash rocked the stage and has had a big impact on my life ever since I seen Velvet Revolver at the Carling Academy in 2004. Dave impressed me very much as he was like so awesome at doing guitar solos with Slash. Duff what can I say Legend. Scott was just a great entertainer that night and impressed me also. And Matt he's just a great drummer with attitude. All the best Velvet Revolver for 2005 and hopefully I can meet you some time.

Thanks to Molly: I was at this gig and it rocked!!! The whole band were amazing!! I saw them about six months ago at the Carling and they were good, but they just blew me away with this gig. Scott was on top form, brilliant entertainer. Slash was as amazing as ever, Duff and Dave were fantastic and Matt, well he was just bloody brilliant. Sound quality was much better at the SECC than at the Carling and I could hear Scott much better this time round. Hurry up with the new album boys and I will catch you in Glasgow next time round!!!!!!!

Thanks to Bella: There is no one more rock n' roll at this very moment than Velvet Revolver. Duff, Slash, Matt, Scott and Dave fit perfectly together! I am in lust with this band. They performed an equal amount of GnR and STP songs, but their own songs alone are worth hearing live. This band has a monopoly on energy and sex. The audience did not stop going crazy for one second.

Axl who?

Thanks to Pedroscot: The show was awesome the best I've ever been to, the sound was much better than their previous show in Scotland and the crowd loved it. My amazing night was topped off when I found Duff's UK tour pick after the show. Brilliant.

Thanks to John Herbert: This is the second review I have posted for Velvet Revolver in Scotland. The first time they played was the Carling Academy in Glasgow, this time it was the SECC with much bigger capacity approx 2000+.

The show had a lot of hype to live up to and this was a lot of Velvet Revolver's Scottish fans first time seeing them, let me tell you they didn't disappoint!!! The show opened to an amazing crowd roar and applause, as Prince's controversy boomed out the speakers, when Scott and co stormed the stage the place went crazy!

The whole gig was also being shown on two massive screens either side of the stage, (I think this may be part of a European DVD) hope so, because I was dead center with the camera.

The energy was electric, these boys certainly work hard for their money, I can't possibly convey the greatness of the show, you really had to witness it, but I can assure you it was not to be missed!

I thanked god as old classics like It's So Easy echoed aroud the hall, this is as good as GNR ever was!

Two encores later and the crowds still baying for more, Mr Brownstone and Slither completed an all round amazing night of rock and roll music!!!

Can't wait till next time!!!!!
