Reviews (65) [ send in your own review/pictures of the Manchester show ]

Thanks to Ben Taylor: This concert was one of the best gigs I've ever seen. Also that shoe that was thrown on to the stage was my mates. Someone stole it off him while he was crowd surfin. It's small cos he was only 14 at the time lol. If you're listenin revolver my mate wants his shoe back.

Thanks to priestrevolverscorp: F***in awsome. Apart from Velvet Revolver being late. The atmosphere was electric when the lights finally went down, Duff was lit up by the odd camera flash while torch beams were on the stage floor while the rest of the band took there places. STB could of blown the roof of. A good double neck guitar ballad (You Got No Right) and an extended Set Me Free and Sex Type Thing. One of the loudest bands I've ever seen. From where I sat near the front at the end picks were given out. Then Matt jumped of the stage to the crowd. A very nice man. Matt also said last time we played here was at Maine Road, boos were heard (it was actually The Apollo) lol. Slash is the best!!! Does anyone know what the first thing Slash said. The comment Slash made about his distance cousins was cool. Rock hard ride free.

Thanks to Miggy: Fuck yeah...my review is late I know but so what. That was an amazing gig! Me and my buddy waited since 8 am to try and see the band...nothing came of it though. Started a few mosh pits and at the end of the night I chased Slash's car and he waved at me from the passenger seat. I think Duff was in the back...but that made my life...awesome!

Thanks to Charlie: It f**king rocked! Best show I've seen in a long long long time! And Duff spat on me (so proud!) can not wait till download!!

Thanks to Shaun Ponsonby: "Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome the band that put the punk into punctuality-Velvet Revolver". Considering that Velvet Revolver were an hour or so late on stage, I believe this introduction was meant to be ironic. However, seeing Slash, Duff, Scott, Dave and Matt was well worth the extended wait. What the problem was, I'll never know. Kicking off with 'Sucker Train Blues' set the mood perfectly after The Datsuns did the complete opposite beforehand, but the (drunken) singalong of the opening lines of 'Do It For The Kids' (Went too fast/I'm out of luck/and I don't even/give a fuck) showed you that everybody was ready to rock. Playing 2 songs from Stone Temple Pilot's debut 'Core', 2 songs from Guns 'n' Roses 'Appetite For Destruction' and 1 from 'G'n'R Lies' the band could do no wrong. The biggest cheer of the night was saved for the appearence of Slash's top hat, which shows you what an icon the man is. It comes as no suprise that the songs that were best received were the Guns 'N' Roses tracks. But, then, when you've been waiting for a band to return for over a decade and you hear the songs live it causes that rush of excitement and let's face it, this is the closest we will probably ever get to the gunners returning. But, Velvet Revolver are better than GNR and they are better than STP. The best possible compliment you could give is that during the gig you forgot that these guys were in G'N'R and STP. They are Velvet Revolver, baby, and they know how to rock you like a hurricane!!

Thanks to Gareth: The review may be a bit late as I have just found this site. But the concert was f***ing amazing bit pissed off about waiting ages but it was worth it Slash is the best ever. My only complaint is my ears didn't bleed afterwards.

Thanks to Confusedqueen: It was fucking amazing. I loved it. Duff was fucking amazing. And Slash too!! Hurry up and do another UK tour!!

We love Duff!!

The one thing I know about fucking Manchester is you're all fucking losers!!

Best quote!

Thanks to Shereen: 'There's one thing I know about fuckin manchester, you're all fuckin loosers,' What a line....Slash we love you, Duff you're amazing. Me and my mate were blown away.

Thanks to Lynn: After a late start the best band in the world exploded onto the stage and believe me when I say, they were well worth waiting for! It was the best live show that I have seen for a long time and I can't wait for Slash, Duff, Matt, Scott and Dave to come back to the UK for the next gig. Guns n Roses are dead. Long live Velvet Revolver PS Axl Rose eat your heart out!!

Thanks to Becky: Fuckin' hell they were awesome!!! I was there with my friend for my birthday, as soon as I walked down the steps and stood waitin' I could tell that it was gonna be one hell of a show!!! I got slightly pissed off waiting for them but who wouldn't of guessed that they'd come on late? As soon as they started playing though I couldn't keep my eyes of them. Every single song start the crowd wild and especially when Slash wore his hat! Lol! I was depressed when I got back home 'cause I didn't wanna leave those fuckin' brilliant rockers behind! Oh well! LOL!! I'm off to Donnington so hopefully I'll catch them there!!!!

Thanks to Rachie: Yo fellow Velvet Revolver lovers, wow concert was absolutely fuckin great! Hated waiting, but when they came on, brilliant!

Slash = sexy and awesome guitarist
Scott = super frontman
Duff = ultimate bass player
Matt = hilarious, crazy guy
Dave = a loony on stage

Anyhow, really good, and can't wait til next time. Rock on Velvet Revolver and thanks for a great night!

P.S Zaheer, were you sittin cuz I may have been 1 of them crazy nutters playin air guitar, he he.

Thanks to Kirby Scott-Bennett: It was fantastic. I mean just being in the same building as them was great. Being really close to them was really awesome.

Thanks to Phil, Thomas, Chris: This gig was brilliant a fantastic cd and all the band perform 1st class. Is was a motherfucking rock and roll can not wait for next tour..

Thanks to Phil: I can only say two words to describe the gig. Fucking awesome!!! Never before have I seen a gig as good as their's and I will do anything to see them next time they return to Manchester. Matt's drum solo leading into Mr Brownstone was amazing. I have some of the best pics eva of the show including a close up of Slash in his hat!!! Amazing.

Thanks to Iain: It is impossible to find anyone who didn't like it! The best gig I've ever been to!

Thanks to Rob J: After a support band that in my mind wasn't quite up to scratch, not to mention a one hour twenty minute wait between support band and main show you'd think the crowd would be a little bit peeved. After every single song played in the gap a cheer would emit from the crowd, begging Velvet Revolver to come to the stage. Then, the lights turned low. The band that put the punk back into punctuality, from Hollywood, Velvet Revolver I can't go in to too much detail, but this was a fantastic show from everybody. My personal highlights were It's So Easy, Mr Brownstone (my two fave GNR songs), Do It For The Kids and Illegal I. Even the person who I had to drag to the concert loved it. 10/10 for Velvet Revolver!

Thanks to Shereen: Bloody, fuckin amazin. Duff was frikin amazing and so was Slash. Wow, Scott, next Johnny Rotten!! One of the best gigs of my life! Velvet Revolver we love you! It's So Easy was amazing and Set Me Free blew me away...

Thanks to Lauren: OMG... this has to be the best gig I have ever been to!! The Datsuns were ok, then we waited for ages after they had finish for Velvet Revolver to finally come on but despite the hour or so wait it was worth it and I loved every minute of it!!!
They just lit up the stage and kicked ass!!! I would definately go see these again and I think everyone should.

Thanks to Zaheer: F%*#kin' Amazin'. I wish I could leave it at that but I can't for those of you who missed it- let me tell you there are no words that exist seeing these guys perform. It was my first time in the MEN Even though I was never a huge fan of V.R. after seeing these dudes perform I can't deny that these dudes are amazing!!!

It was undoubtedly one of the most mesmerising gigs that I have ever attended, ask anyone there the crowd everyone was wild ecstatic even those of us who were seated (esp. two nutters who were playng air guitar- I'm sure Slash smiled at them). Seeing Duff, Slash and Matt was awesome like a dream come true. I never thought I'd see that happen. I have to also give credit to Dave his supporting rhythm guitar was also cool as were Weilands, Mick Jagger like movements on stage hilarious. They all looked amazing too, Duff was a huge tease the way he lowered his bass guitar on the stage to screaming fans and let them touch it was hilarious. The solo on drums on the break Matt preformed had everyone holding their breath Slash, dude no guitar player is worthy of the way you moved effortlessly on the fret board, dude you had us all watching.

I totally did not mind waiting for these dudes to come on it was worth every minute, I don't even mind that I missed the last train home, hell I had been to a friend's wedding and sneaked off early just to make sure I was at the gig to see Velvet Revolver. And you know what?? I don't regret any of it. I only slept two hours after the gig I had to let everyone that couldn't go know what they had missed out on.

For those of you who think my view is biased there was a downer on the gig, whilst waiting for the Datsuns and Velvet Revolver to come on that Team America trailer was becoming really irritating, first two times it was funny then it just ponged people. Oh there was also a Gary Neville sitting behind us (for those of you who don't know who he is, he's apparently some sort of footballer), I do have to apologise to my friend for not letting her take a picture of him. Lol.

I can't wait for Velvet Revolver to come back to Manchester just hope next time I am standing at the front, getting a drum stick from Matt or a pick from Duff. Hope this helps. Goodnight rock on!!! xXx

ps Slash had a new tattoo on his arm of the silhouette of the Velvet Revolver chick.

Thanks to John Tinning: I've been to see loads of so called 'huge' bands, Korn, Slipknot, Metallica to name but a few, but I have to say, this was the single best experience of my life, sex is overated compared to watching Velvet Revolver! Scott was his amazing self, Duff as usual, liked to take centre stage, Matt was amazing, Slash was godlike and the crowd even gave Steve the credit he deserves for a change! Compared to the gig they played at the Apollo, which in itself was one of the best performances I have seen, they played there ass' off. Officially the best gig I have ever been to and to top it off I got Duff's pleck!

Thanks to Paul Jackson a.k.a. The Terminator: Sunday night was without a doubt, the greatest night of my entire life. I watched the world's greatest band perform a blistering show and absolutely blow their fans heads off.

Me and my friends got to the M.E.N. at just after 3pm. There were only 5 people there. So we were the first! Had a few beers and the lads went off to find McDonalds, whilst I sat outside, reserving our place and texting numerous people.

Anyway, by the time 6pm came, the place was packed out, and we were first in line to be let in. As soon as the doors opened, I got my ticket scanned and raced to the souvenir stand. Couldn't decide upon a t-shirt, so I just joined the queue to get into the standing area. Some dude came around taking tickets off us and giving us blue bands to put on to identify us as being in the standing area. Well 15 minutes later they let us in, and me and my mates rushed to the front. We were right on top of the barrier!

The Datsuns came on just before 8pm and played a rocking half an hour set. They're a rocking bunch of fuckers! We thought we'd be waiting about half an hour for Velvet Revolver to come on. 9pm came, and we were still waiting. 9:15, still no Velvet Revolver. 9:30, still waiting. People were getting pissed off and comments like "even Axl would have been on by now" were flying up in the air. But all that went out of the window a few minutes after 9:35, when the lights went down and the crowd started to fucking roar. The familiar roady voice screaming "MANCHESTAAA!!! THE BAND THAT PUT THE PUNK IN PUNCTALITY... Velvet Revolver!!!!" Duff's intro to Sucker Train Blues started, then in came Dave and Slash, the lights went up, and the roof came off.

After STB was Do It For The Kids and absolutely fucking rocking rendition I might say, too. Then when that had finished, Slash made his way to the mic, and just bellowed... "sup!!!". The crowd went fucking estatic again and they boomed out Headspace. The pit was absolutely rocking, I was headbanging all the way through.

Scott then looked at the crowd and said, "how about a love song". To which Slash started Fall To Pieces.

Well I lost track of the set list after a few songs, but they gave us a hot version of Illegal I, Superhuman and Dirty Lil Thing. They also showed the new video I'm pretty sure it was that anyway, which takes place in a boxing ring, with Weiland boxing someone. Old style, like in the Ali days.

I managed to get a lot of rockin' photos, which I shall post later on. And not to mention a few short video clips.

Duff dedicated It's So Easy to the crowd and the pit went wild once more. Slash was so happy, in a fantastic mood. He was smiling at us and posing. Absolutely fantastic. He came on the mic at one point and said "hello my distant cousins".

Set Me Free was a fast paced motherfucker, Slash played the solo behind his head! Awesome! Then the top hat was donned and half man, half beast, Mr. Slash, sat in the middle of the stage and treated us to Used To Love Her!

You Got No Right came afterwards, with the big man picking up the double necked guitar. First time I've seen him use that, was bitchin'!

They went off stage for a few minutes and chants of "we want more!" filled the arena. Matt came back out and said "so yeah, the last time we played Manchester, we played Maine Road", with a big grin on his face. A few boos went, but mostly cheering. That though, in fact, is a dirty rotten lie. Because the last time they played Manchester, it was at the Carling Apollo. I know, because I was there.

Anyway, he sat behind his kit and belted out some GN'R era drum solos, before launching into the You Could Be Mine intro. The crowd was rocking like a motherfucker, they actually thought the band was gonna do YCBM. But I of course knew what was coming. After a good bit of the YCBM intro, he stopped and belted out Mr. Brownstone, which delighted the crowd and made the arena bounce once more.

The final track of the night was Slither, and boy did they make it count. People knew it was the final song and so they just rocked so fucking hard, and just had some plain ol' good rock n' roll fun. After that, the band had gone, and we were left alone, to leave.

What a night. What a night!!

This gig was a lot better than the one at the Apollo back in September. That was a lot more tense. It was a bit more relaxed last night and whilst I was in the scrum of the pit yet again, I held my own this time, gave as good as I got and didn't move at all. I held onto that barrier like a motherfucker.

Made eye contact with the band so many times, it really, truly was the best night of my entire life. I hope they come back soon and rock us away once more.

I'm not going to spoil things by mentionin a certain other person, but Velvet Revolver really do kick some fucking arse, and are defintiely the best rock group in the world at this moment in time. They have nothing left to prove and have established themselves as a well known name. They don't need to use their past to get recognition.

Velvet Revolver, I FUCKING LOVE YOU ALL!!!!

Thanks to Simon Hall: Awesome perfomance and great crowd to go with it! They are surely the best live band on the planet. Their energy is awesome and they give 110%. Want to see them again now my hearing and limbs have returned. Plus the accoustic set where they played Used To Love Her was brilliant. The best songs were Fall To Pieces, Used To Love Her, Crackerman, Slither. Fuck it, all of them.

Thanks to Tom Mchale and Sani Beardmore: I completley agree with Sarah, what a fucking amazing gig. Just a bit better than the one back in September. Mr Brownstone was amazing, we went fucking mental. Awesome. Can't wait for you to return Velvet Revolver!!

Thanks to Andy: Fuckin Awesome!!! These are the best band on the planet, yes we had to wait a little while but hey so what! Scott is a fantastic front man. Let's hope they come over in the summer. Long may Velvet Revolver reign victorious. Wow!!!!

Thanks to rock on Don: Fuckin rock on!!!!!! Gig was fantastic, sexy mutha truckers ;) what more can I say !!!!

Thanks to Becky: Absolutly awesome show! Heh I think it was better than the first two times I saw them back in September. And I even got to wear my Scott hat this time. <3 They were late on, but Scott apoligized and stuff *we put the punk in punctuality* heh and then they broke into Sucker Train Blues. It was bloody brilliant the whole show was just awesome.
Someone threw a shoe at Duff, which was stupid but he had a great come-back hehe. Slash spoke more to which was awesome! <333
The acoustic bit was great too...I just can't wait to see them again on 21s 22nd and of course for the next album and tour. Excellent- 10/10

Thanks to Wod: Rock n roll perfection!! I saw Velvet Revolver at the Apollo last year that was great but this time they blew us away! They were much tighter as a group and seemed reborn! Slash's solo was amazing and he was running across the stage like in the old days of Guns N Roses and Scott Weiland was possessed by some kind of rock demon!! Overall the best live band I have ever seen! Hope they get down to the download festival this year, there was a 25 foot tall Velvet Revolver logo by the main stage last year so maybe.(p.s. The Datsuns were cool too!)

Thanks to Adrian: The set list was the same as the gig at Newcastle and what a performance, the Velvet Revolver stuff was totally amazing staying true to the album versions and what a tease leaving Slither till the end. The crowd went absolutely wild when Matt teased us with the beginning of 'You Could Be Mine' before going into Mr Brownstone and joined then by the rest of the band. I unfortunatly missed seeing GnR in their day and will regret it till the day I die, but seeing Velvet Revolver has gone part way to making up for it. If you were toying with the idea about seeing them, you've gotta go!!!

Thanks to Nigel Thomson: The measure of a truly great concert is the bits that come to you days after when you're still buzzing and this had it in spades. What a phenomenal opening, enough strobing to keep an epileptic busy for months. Forget Prince Harry, Scott was Nazi cool personified. This is some frontman. At times Bowie, Lydon, Tyler, Jagger, Axl even Max Wall, terrific strutting stuff and that megaphone, inspired! Blistering solos- an increasing rarity these days-and fantastically loud- just a suspicion of volume over clarity early doors. A+ When's the dvd coming out?

Downsides? Well, waiting 80 minutes between acts and getting showered in piss were minor quibbles on a night of awesome R N F'KN R. As for The Datsuns, they should've been allowed more volume and more time(38 mins) but good clarity. How they'll even equal last August at the Cockpit in Leeds I'll never know. All in all a triumph.

Thanks to Gemma: Omfg, Brilliant. The Datsuns performed really well. They were a great support choice. - We waited an hour for Velvet Revolver, which was annoying. But all in all, the gig was fantastic! The mosh pit was great. They definately put on a brilliant show. Slash was amazing, especially when he played a big fat solo with the guitar behind his head. That was cool to see, and when he played the double fret guitar. Fan-bloody-tastic. Duff was amazing, and Scott was just as amazing. All I can say is, wow. I'd definately go again.

And if you didn't go to this one, go to the next concert!!

Thanks to Deborah Hague: Well as Scott said it was up your ass rock n roll! Yeah they were an hour late but worth every second of the wait! The whole band gave their best to what seemed to where I was stood a odd vibed crowd. I mean why throw a shoe? You paid you stupid f**k what's your problem? It's Mo.Fo.S.O.Bs like you who spoil the vibe for every one else. It's quite likely the reason there was no encore. I waited out at the gates at the end but they drove past us into the night in blacked out people carrier. Fucking excellent show!

Thanks to Danny: OMG! Greatest gig I've been to ever! I waited for like 5 hours which weren't needed as I was in the station so hardly a queue but I got to da front and towards the left a bit so I mainly seen Duff which was really kool. I have been quite an obsessive fan of GnR for a while and Velvet Revolver have really grown on me they are sooo good. So basically Sunday nite was a dream come true for me. The set was good with the to encores. The hour wait between the Datsuns really did suck but unlike most I wasn't to bothered as I knew I was going to see people I have idolised for a few years. Slash was great he moved all over the stage to give everyone a chance to see his greatness. At one point 5-6 of us were in awe as he moved to us during Headspace and wacked off a solo and just smiled at us which was too good. The set was good and with mixed songs so they weren't all the same tone. Of course they finished off with Slither which was just fantastic but I must admit I really thought that Superhuman was a very good performance. In the end Matt Sorum threw a drumstick towards me someone caught it and I grabbed it but there was a group of friends who miraculously managed to stick together and wrestled it off me. In the end I declare it best gig going no comparison to past experiances. Oh and the Datsuns were ok bit samish tho:P

Thanks to Chris: The concert was fuckin' fantastic. Slash ruled as always everyone was running around all over the stage, the crowd was hyped up dancing there asses off. And as always give they loads of picks and drumsticks at the end. Support band was also good. the only downside was it took Velvet Revolver ages to come on stage but they made up for it in the show.

Thanks to Big Scott: This gig was the bollocks! The best I've been to in my opinion even though they were half a hour late coming on stage! Due to this I missed my train home and had to wait till 1.30am before I could get on one for the hour journey home but it was well worth it! All the band performed quality and I was blown away with Slash's solos and the cover of Mr. Brownstone was amazing. I've never seen a crowd jump so much!

Thanks to Greg W: Wow amazing, I'm not writing a big review because everyone else has sumed it up perfectly, I was sitting 3 rows back at the right of the stage, the bands left and at the end the mighty Matt Sorum came over to the rails when he was leaving and I shook his hand along with about 2 other people I am still in shock now!!!

Rock Fukin' Roll

P.S I saw Gary Neville as well in crowd just behind me but my god I wish I'd have seen Ole Gunnar Solskjaer he's a true legend, he's also a massive GN'R fan. Probably why he was there!!

Thanks to Ian: Velvet Revolver were amazing even better than last time in September. The band played all Contraband album bar 2 songs the highlight for me was Slash's solo leading into Used To Love Her on his tradmark Les Paul it fucking rocked. Scott was on form as well as the rest of the band. They all looked cool and rocked all night. I could go on all day about the show (get tickets and see this amazing band). We are heading for London on Sat can't fucking wait if ya reading Slash please sign my guitar you rock guys.

Thanks to Dobbsy: What can anyone say about this gig that hasn't already been said. It was near perfection...sound was excellent - lighting was good, the backgrounds and screens were killer, and the band were all on top form. The Datsuns kicked it off and having heard a few of their songs I was looking forward to some killer riffs and some cool solos from Christian - wasn't disappointed - good opener.

Velvet Revolver fucking rocked! Biggest reactions were for Big Machine, Do it for the Kids and It's So Easy... I thought Sex Type Thing was awesome also...and Slither...and Used To Love Her...actually - no songs stood out that much or could be seen as weak really...just awesomeness. On a par with Metallica for live show.

Slash - Coolness personified...guitar wise he was excellent without being pretentious. Cool new Velvet Revolver tat on right forearm...donned top hat for Used To Love Her. Gave shout out to his "distant cousins".
Duff - Looked fit as...oozed confidence from every pore and the bass did leap out for once at a live gig. Great leather jacket...bassline to Big Machine rocked even harder than normal.
Dave - Dave is Dave...he did the job without seeking the spotlight as much as maybe the others. Good drive though.
Matt - Haha...great comment: "Last time I was here I played Maine Road! ( Crowd Boos )...Oh Shit...* big smile * - great drum solo and nice maraca work. Looked as happy as always!
Scott - The most captivating front man at the moment...he slithered his way across stage. His mad eyes were compelling and he demanded all eyes on him and he didn't disappoint. Carried all the notes...oh - nice megaphone work also...lookin' pretty and at the heights of his powers.

Thanks to Anthony: It was so amazing apart from them being over 45 minutes late. They opened up with Sucker Train Blues they included some GNR songs in there set (Used To Love Her). And when they played (It's So Easy) the crowd went mental. They played for about 90 mins and were amazing.

Thanks to Ratty: *****Awesome!! Best band on the planet forget GNR and STP these boys are the real deal*****

Thankx for a great show!

www.festersweb.co.uk

Thanks to Dan Maxwell: Pure Rock and Fucking Roll! What more needs to be said! See you in Christchurch and Auckland!

Thanks to Gav: What a fucking gig, firstly The Datsuns- awesome! A little under rated by the whole crowd, but then again we were there to see Velvet Revolver, Rock n Fuckin' Roll Manchester! Could Scott have anymore stage presence...fuck me! Over all fucking ace gig, apart from the Team America adverts for fuck's sake, oh and I got 1 of Slashes tab ends. :P lol

Thanks to Arty Marty: The back drop said it all "Rock 'n' f**in' Roll"

Low points the wait...should there have been another band? Or being cynical hightening expectation/fuelling rumours...etc As ever the support band sound suffered but...that's being picky.
All in all a great debut album and fantastic live experience. Wish I'd seen them at the Apollo in 2004.
You could argue that with their pedigree there should be the quality of performance and stage craft that we experienced but that is not always the case. Velvet Revolver works on stage and on l.p. I hope they ain't peaked too early.

Thanks to Jackie Moss: Velvet Revolver were absolutley awesome best thing I have seen, all the band were great and good sports. Everyone in the areana had a great time and the place was jumping all ages too. I'm 42 by the way and I was with my son 17 and his friends a great night had by all. What more can I say but you will not be disappointed or let down seeing Velvet Revolver.

Thanks to Rob: Unreal!!!! I was lucky enough to have standing tickets and me and my mate took full advantage. You could sense the atmosphere in the arena building from the first moment you walked in. The Datsuns warmed the crowd up with an energetic set but nothing like what was to follow! The band kept us waiting till half nine then a few warm up notes from the bass guitar and the lights cutting whipped the crowd into a frenzy. Then the first bars of "Sucker Train Blues" hit and it was non stop from there. Me and my mate were rushed forward from being maybe 50 or 60 people back to being on the barrier at the front with the crowd pulling and pushing us all over the place. Duff stood tall and imposing on the monitors at the front as he pumped out his driving bass-line and Dave was moshin' away beside him. Then from the far left of the stage Slash tore to the centre and I knew I was at a fuckin' rock show! Scott's dirty vocals were spot on all night and his showmanship added to the awesome atmoshere. The band ripped through a faultless and incredibly tight set pulling of breathtaking solo's for fun. They finished with an extended version of Set Me Free in which both Slash and Dave took it in turns to dazzle the crowd with their soloing abilities. The first encore included the chilled out "Used to Love Her" and "You Got No Right" with a top-hatted Slash. The second encore began with a brief drum solo before a faultless version of sing-a-long favorite "Mr. Brownstone" and the awesome "Slither". The Best Rock'n'Fuckin'Roll gig I've ever experienced! Thanks guys.

Thanks to John Hammond : Second time I've seen these guys live and they seem to be getting better and better. They were simply awesome. Scott was fantastic and had so much energy. As did the rest of the guys. A superb show and I hope they'll be back very soon.

Thanks to Jan: What a concert - brilliant, absolutely brilliant and well worth the money. We had front row seats right near the stage so we had a perfect view. Slash was fabulous - still can't believe that we have seen him in the flesh. He's not changed a bit and is still as gorgeous as ever. Scott looked great too, so did Duff and Dave was a revelation - what a performer. Matt was also rock steady on drums, as ever. Scott was a great frontman - and no rants either! The crowd loved it and the atmosphere was great. I have read some reviews lately and have wondered whether some people went to a different gig by mistake! They were fantastic and we are still buzzing. Can't wait to see them again.

Thanks to James Allanson: The show completely rocked. I'm a big GNR's fan so I enjoyed it when they played It's So Easy and Mr. Brownstone. Slash was great as usual and looked exactly the same. Can't wait till they play again.

Thanks to Mike: Great show, similar setlist to the other shows in the UK. The band sounded really good no not good amazing! A few highlights include, someone threw a shoe at Duff and Scott falling over his mic stand lol. But a great amazing tight show, they rocked!!!!!!

Thanks to Lee Simpson: OMG! This show was awsome. Much better than I was expecting and I was expecting alot of things.

Everything about it was ace, Scott was on top form, and his vocals were not low in the mix like previous concerts.

Seeing Slash, Duff and Matt for the first time kicked even more ass and seeing Dave was cool, he gave such a good performance. Even when his strap broke on his guitar on the first song he just walked back strumming away and swapped guitars.

Everything rocked. I'm tired. Off too bed. Night.

Thanks to Adam and Chris: Took 3 hours to get them on stage but when they did it was the best fucking night ever! Loud as fuck!!!! Scott being his usual possesed self fell over like a muppet apart from one cunt throwin beer at Duff it was the best concert ever!!! Think I'm fuckin deaf now but it was worth it. We drove from Liverpool to see them hope they come back soon!!!!!

Thanks to Danny Good: It was ace. The band were ace, the crowd were ace and the whole show were ace. I have been waiting to see Velvet Revolver for a very long time and then finally got the chance to. Thanks Velvet Revolver.

Thanks to Sarah: First thing I'd like to say is wow!! Omg Velvet Revolver are amazing!!! My boyfriend is the biggest fan off Slash ever, so I came along with him to the concert. I bought Contraband when it was released but I never knew how good the band were live! They fuckin rule!! I'm totally a believer of Slash as being a fuckin rock legand!! I just hope they make a live DVD or live album cause that would be amazing!

Thanks to CENG: The only way to describe last night's gig is - ROCK FUCKIN' ROLL at it's very best!! It was amazing to see the last real guitar hero Slash playing the string like only he can!! All of the boyz rocked out, they all have so much charisma on stage!! Mr. Brownstone was mind-blowing and a welcome surprise to hear!!

Thanks 4 the great night and don't leave it too long before you play Manchester again!!

ROCK FUCKIN' ROLL!!!

P.S. Gary Neville (Manchester Utd) and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (Manchester Utd - Legend) were also in the crowd rocking away!!

Thanks to Jen Knowles: Where do I start? It was absolutely fantastic, they fucking rocked!!! I sat towards the back of the hall, it was alright but would have liked to have been closer. After such a kick ass performance I have never had more respect for the guys. It was written all over Slash's face when he was playing his guitar that he is intoxicated with passion for playing. That guy is absolutely amazing...remarkable! Matt did a little solo introduction and he was waving his arms around all over the place...again excellent performance. Feel sorry for Dave because Slash steals the attention away, but I bet he doesn't give a fuck, he gets to play with Slash!!! Duff was quite quiet, just kept himself to himself really. Anyway, I am definately doing that again that's for sure, they fucking rock!!!

Thanks to Nick: Absolutely bloody brilliant! The best gig I've ever been to. All of the guys were great, but Slash was out of this world - he's the best guitarist I've ever seen live. Best bit was when they played the GNR songs - It's So Easy, Used To Love Her and Mr Brownstone - it brought back many memories! If you do anything before you die, make sure you see Velvet Revolver live. They rock!

Thanks to Jade Morris: Oh my god that concert was so fantastic. They all haven't changed one bit if anything there looking better than ever!! I'm also going to see them in Birmingham as (Velvet Revolvers guests) ;) how good, they blew the crowd away they really did, what a show no one could critisize. I can't believe how great it was, theire songs were excellent, and Duff's body!!!! Wow!!!!! Scott is well better than Axl he doesn't rant and the crowd just adored him, Slash is looking sexy as usual he doesn't look a day older he was great I love him to pieces!!! Velvet Revolver rule!!

Thanks to Dan Williams: As soon as I walked down the long steps to the floor of the MEN arena I knew that this was a show that I would never forget. The Datsuns unfortunately only got some of the crowd going but with me being a fan I enjoyed every second of their set. We met Dolph (lead singer) earlier on that day when he was walking around the arena trying to find the entrance and when he saw us in the crowd when they were playing he threw a plectrum at us and we got it!

When The Datsuns walked off stage the atmosphere began to build up and people were beginning to realize who was about to walk on stage. Everytime a song would fade out the whole arena began to cheer in hops that the lights would go out but unfortunatly another song would play. Eventually when the crowd cheered the lights were out and the atmosphere was electric!

As soon as the audience got the first glimpse of Matt the crowd began to go insane and then when the opening riff for Sucker Train Blues began the audience blew up. When the song had got to the first chorus I noticed at least five or ten people carried over the barriers. I was very impressed with Scott's showmanship he was a very impressive frontman. When he knocked over Duff's mic stand the look on his face was a picture!

Scott did appologise for the late entrance but we never found out why they were late so if anyone does know then let me know. The highlight of the evening for me was when they played a fantastic cover of Used To Love Her.

After the show was over I managed to get my hands on a Velvet Revolver plectrum!! That just finished my night off completely. It was a very impressive night and the next time they come over I shall have to see them again and they were worth the wait!

Thanks to Jane: Two words - fucking amazing. And I got a Datsuns pick.

Thanks to Gaz: Fuck me!!!! How amazing was that gig????? Much better than the Apollo gig in my opinion! Mr Brownstone! Crackerman! It's So Easy! Sex Type Thing! Wow!! Covered them awesomely!!! The Datsuns were damn cool too! Velvet Revolver you gotta play Donnington or Leeds!!!!

Rock and roll

Thanks to Bethany: Fantastic! The show was ace! I really liked Fall To Pieces and Slither.

Slash is a really good guitarist and the band performed well. It was the best show I've been to yet and the next one should be even better.

Thanks to Mike B: What a concert, first the Datsuns which I thought couldn't be beaten that was a amazing performance. Then Velvet Revolver. I was very pissed off after waiting about two hours for them to come on and the friggin Team America advert. But you guys didn't half make up for the wait. Best concert ever.

Velvet Revolver fuckin rock!!!!!

Thanks to Miss Rock 'n' Roll: The music was perfect! The boys were perfect, the show just rocked. This is the best gig I've ever been to!

Thanks to Paul: They were absolutely amazing, when they first came out and played Sucker Train Blues my eyes were fixed on Duff while he was standing on the front, I missed the end of Slither cause I had to get a bus but I got Duff's bass pick when he threw it into the crowd, so that kind of made up for it.

Fucking great night

Everyone should buy a ticket.

Thanks to Sarah: What a great gig - possibly even better than back in September. Datsuns were great, mixed response from the crowd but they were definately a great choice for support. We had to wait over an hour then for Velvet Revolver to appear, but when they did there was the usual intro then Sucker Train. After this Scott apologized: 'Sorry we're late, ladies..This ones for you...' before they played Do it for the kids. 2 STP's, 3 GNR's, all of Contraband except Loving The Alien and Spectacle (I think...)

Slash, Duff and Scott were using the full length of the stage, and Scott particularly was strutting his stuff lol possibly even better than the first time they played Manchester because he's now perfected a Johnny rotten wide eyed glare into the audience haha

Someone threw a shoe at Duff, and was swiftly taken down by him when the song ended, when Duff stepped up to the mic and suggested that the guy may have issues, considering the very small size of his shoe...

Slash commented that in Manchester we really know how to lose our heads' Scott did the 'Revolution' speech:
"I am a man of peace
I am a man of forgiveness
But I am a man of action
And when all else fails there will be a revolution
And when all else fails there will be war..."
I made a point of remembering it, thats pretty much exactly what he said) All in all a great gig, can't wait for the next tour!

Thanks to Mike Martin: Awesome! The definition of rock!
