Thanks to Isabella: Absolutely amazing. I paid top price twice but still didn't get to sit upclose. I don't understand. I enjoyed Vegas more though. (smaller) Slash is a super guitarist but I guess he already knows this. Thanking you for an amazing experience. Hope to see you guys soon.

PS. If I may say without insulting anyone. Just sing normally, with a microphone, you have a great voice.(just an opinion) Love you all. xxoo especially to Slash. Awesome band.

Thanks to Narley Velvet Revolver! : Velvet Revolver was fuckin sick man I was right up close on the floor literary right in front of Duff, Scott and Slash. It was sick, I almost got killed in a mosh-pit. Three Days Grace was alright but who the hell were the guys before 3.d.g were they even associated with the music industry I don't think anyone knew who they were. I thought they were Three Days Grace. Anywayz it was a righteous show and I hope they come back to MTL.

Thanks to Danny C: It's only fucking fair to say the band that I seen that night was Velvet Revolver. No one else no past no ex singers no Slash but just fucking the newest sound in the rock circuit. I'm awed, amazed and musically moved when I first went to my first rock concert which I was 15 years old. Let's give this new dudes the merit of being Velvet Revolver that's all and let fucking scream it out loud with all respect to the past. Fuck Guns and Roses, fuck Stone Temple Pilots, fucking awesome Velvet Revolver.

Thanks to Susie Q: The show was AMAZING!!! I was soooo sad to see it end. I've waited years to see Duff and Slash play together and it was well worth the wait. True the sound was CRAZY loud and sometime we could barely hear Scott but it was a small glitch in an otherwise perfect night! Scott was on the ball full of energy, I couldn't have asked for more! Velevt Revolver rocks....we love you here in Montreal!!!! Duff ROCKS!

Thanks to Steve Dufresne: The Montréal concert was amazing, but the crowd, for me, was not in it at all. Great setlist. Has for the Hamilton concert, same songs & a very very good performance & the crow was wild on the floor. A couples of mistakes in the two concerts, but can't wait to see them again & again & again...sorry for my english.

Thanks to Cynthia Lombardi: It took long, but before your knew it, Velvet Revolver was rocking on stage. This was a real rock show. The combination of Scott's entertaining antics, Slash's legendary guitar playing, Duff's prancing around from one end of the stage to the other, Matt's wicked smile as he was introducing "It's so Easy" and Dave (I leave him for last because he impressed me). Dave is the guy most people feel doesn't fit but I think he perfectly belongs there!!! He was genuine! So as I was saying, the combination of these 5 guys was like no other...they enjoyed what they were doing!!! I must say, I wasn't a crazy huge fan but after seeing them. I realized that rock has ressurrected and has taken its place back in my heart...and in the hearts of many of Montrealers. They are great musicians and they all make the band! Can't wait for some more of their great work!!! Velvet Revolver RULES!

Thanks to Kata: Wowie wowie wow wow wow!!! I can't believe I was like 3 meters away from Slash and Duff!!! They are without a doubt the hottest men in the history of hot men. But yes, the music was AMAZING as it is to be expected at a Velvet Revolver show, the crowd however wasn't all that wild, but it was still the best night of my life I can't get over the fact I saw them! And my ears are still ringing :D

Thanks to Velvet Revolverskin: All I have to say is that I was blown away by this concert! It just kicked serious ass! The energy and the chemistry between these guys is amazing!! I don`t have a word that could describe this show! Scott was wicked, I mean he jump in the stands and I got to take a pic of him and touch him. It felt amazing and he was darn sexy!!!! Anyway guys, this was the best decision of your life to form this group because its finally nice to see that rock and roll is still alive!! Three Days Grace were excellent and the first band wasn`t too bad...great job!

Thanks to Karolyne aka £@dy Dark§unMoon: Hi guys!

My adventure started last week when I finally decided to buy a ticket to the Velvet Revolver show, I managed to fit it in my hectic single-mom schedule. I took a general admittance ticket to the pit in front of the stage for $63 CAN including taxes.

The show was scheduled at 7PM Tuesday night March 22nd, 2005. I left St-Pie at 5PM with my friend Dany who dropped me at the bus station, took the bus for Longueuil, then took the Metro to Bonaventure station, where the Bell Centre is and arrived at 6:55! I was on my own for the show and I wished Rat was there to see it with me, but he was in Dallas studying for his exams. Oh well, his loss, because the show was extraordinarily amazing!

I got my ticket at the booth, left my "luggage" at the cloakroom and managed to land myself a 2nd row place in the pit just in the middle of the set of the first opening band who were not bad, but I didn't get the bands name. After, around 19h45 came Three Days Grace who're gonna be traveling with Velvet Revolver for the rest of the Canadian leg of the tour. Their frontman was really cute with his spiky black hair, white t-shirt and pinstripped pants with a silver chain around his pocket, looked like a classy punk and they have some pretty good songs and they played us some of their new stuff. Half the crowd the was in the "stadium" at the time knew them already and raised their hands when he asked who had bought their cd. They were a good crowd warmer, saying that the women were hotter and warmer welcoming in Montréal than in Toronto and they stayed on the stage for about three quarters of an hour. Before singing their last song, he said "Let's hear it for Velvet Revolver!" and the crowd roared. When their set was over, we waited during an hour long intermission and I got to get acquainted with the other fans that surrounded me. A lot of them were wearing Velvet Revolver or GN'R shirts.

The crowd yelled "Velvet Revolver! Velvet Revolver!" also a couple of "Slash!!!!" during the intermission. We got polluted by a guy smoking skunk in the seated side rows. The security guy took 3 guys out of the room but soon released them as it appeared they had no proof it was them.

Around 9:30 or a quarter to 10, the guys came on stage after being introduced as the guys who put the "Punk" back in "punktuality". Scott was wearing a pink shirt with stripes, his army cap and navy mascara (yes, I was really close enough to see that, without needing to break my neck to gaze at the screen over on my left). Duff was wearing a sky blue t-shirt with black pants that had stars sewn on at the hips and feet. Matt was wearing jeans and a sleeveless leather shirt, Dave was wearing black a
tuque hat, black shirt and medium-deep green pants. And Slash came on in general clamoring, most of the crowd was there to see HIM mostly. HE was wearing black pants with a navy paisley bandana in the right back pocket, a sleeveless burgundy sport jersey and a sleeveless leather vest much like Matt's.

They played Sucker Train Blues and Do It For The Kids then Scott introduced the band and said in a standup comic manner that it was "good to be in your beautiful country, which ironically was much like [his], but with a conscience. In the US we take steroids to get big and strong only to end up with a small dick", and introduced us to the next song "This is a song for you, it's call"Illegal I"

They played it for a long while, the solo lasted a while during which Scott took a smoke break along with Slash and during all of the show, the guys came to our end of the stage and we were cheering them on a lot, we pogo-danced all night, screamed/sung the lyrics all night, went wild until we blew our throats and headbanged along with Slash. Slash was always the one getting the most feedback from the crowd with Duff a close second.

Slash took the mike at Scott's request because Scott saw how into Slash the Montréal crowd is/was. He told us it was always a pleasure to be back in Montréal, that he hadn't been here in a while ( that's almost 4 years if my memory is correct, Slash, you should come more often!!!) and he introduced the next song as "This is how it all fuckin' got started" and they played Set Me Free.
The rest of the songs, I don't really remember in which order they were played, but here they are:
IT's So Easy (the whole crowd was into the GN'R song, and especially this particular one, when we were at "Why don't you just Fuck off", the raised fits turned into fingers !), Used to Love Her, Dirty Little Things ("About the war and all", said Scott), Big Machine, Headspace, You Got No Right, Fall To Pieces (that Scott dedicated to "all you groupies, junkies or those who listen too much radio"), Superhuman, some STP song that I didn't know of.

For the encore, the neon Velvet Revolver sign above the stage was flashing red and yellow to get the crowd to get them to shout "Vel-Vet Revol-Ver!" as loud as they could because man, we were out of voice and out of breath, and so sweaty I could tell the brand of soap my crowd companion had used. Matt came back and did a drum solo of the intro to You Could Be Mine and then the rest of the guys joined him for Mr. Brownstone and Slither.

During a song, Scott got off stage walked in front of us then climbed the stairs and you could see tons of hands reaching out to touch him. Boy, that guy is on FIRE I swear! And he moves like a Cirque du Soleil contortionist! At some point, he acted out with like like he was a bear trying to scratch his back and Slash was the tree.

Then they got off the stage throwing a few picks and drumsticks in the crowd, unfortunately, I didn't catch any. Everyone in the crowd was sorry the show was over already, there was so much electricity in the air to get us lasting until early in the morning. The security guards were every bit as assholish as the last time (see my review of when Snakepit came on the AC/DC Stiff Upper Lip tour with Rat and Brainless314) and pushed us around asking us to leave and pointing to the roadies saying "these people are just trying to do their jobs", we could even stay and get autographs. But surprisingly enough, they let people use their cameras and cell phones during the show. hum.

Anyways, many fans left saying that it was the best show they had ever witnessed and they were on a natural and healthy high when they left while a huge grin on their face, after buying Velvet Revolver merchandise. I bought a T-shirt with short sleeves with the Velvet Revolver logo and the lady in front and the city names on the back($35.00) and a zippered one with long sleeve written Velver Revolver on the back and with a girl riding a Colt on the front($80.00 CAN)and a white stripe, but they were out of hoodies my size when I got to the counter BEFORE the show began.

Oh, why doesn't Slash ever sign autographs when in Montréal?!?!?

Well, my journey ended taking the subway again, then the bus and a taxi, listen to Contraband all the way trying to savor every single moment of the show to cherish them forever.

Thanks to c69: It was amazing to actually see the old guns and Scott live, they gave off so much energy. I was bummed that I didn't get a drumstick or a guitar pick or an autograph, but I guess seeing them was already something. I loved the set and that's probably why I thought it was too short. All in all, a hot show - finally, the power and vibe of real rock n roll isn't dead! Love Velvet Revolver, big kisses!

Thanks to Richard: Why wasn't 'Loving the Alien' played. Why, when it's probably the best track on the Contraband album?

That aside. The show played out well enough despite no grand finale. What these guys need is a blow out ending. I was left with a sense of lacking for it seemed somehow unfinished. It almost felt like a routine and the band seemed to be merely filling in an obligation. The crowd itself wasn't overly enthusiastic and that somehow might have halted the band's passion which is more than understandable. Scott Weiland is a hell of a showman yet he when he performs the GN'R tunes, something is left to be desired. Not to knock his abilities, but trying to fill Axl's shoes vocally is no small battle. Axl always knew how to throw a power punch ending to any of his songs but Weiland just doesn't have that range which takes away from the tunes climatic moments. This is probably why Paradise city, Sweet Child O' mine and Welcome to the Jungle isn't on the setlist and won't be peformed by Scott. Always being a huge fan of STP and GN'R, alone being there was worth the admission. It was a good rock show if not great but seeing that with their history perhaps I was expecting too much. But maybe not, in 2004, I went to Toronto to See Guns N' Roses and that show left me satisfied without a doubt. Axl, being the dramatist that he is, performed the hell out of his tunes and the ending was something to really remember. Perhaps I'm biased, but I don't think so. Oh yeah, Duff still rules!

Thanks to Laurent: What a cool show. The first 3 songs, the sound was bad, but became better after. The end was so amazing when Scott went in the crowd to finish Slither. HE WAS JUST BESIDE ME!!!!!! Isn't that cool?

I'm glad they came and hope they will come back soon!!!

Thanks to Marc: This show was the fuckin best show I've ever seen!!! Slash was fuckin great! Rockin out the whole fuckin night!!! Scott was awesome using his megaphone all night!! And the same goes out for the rest of the band!!! Just a fuckin great show. Shit, I'm going to their show the next time they come! I'm going to see Motley Crue in a month, I wonder how they'll compare to this show!! Three Days Grace was also great! But who was that first band who played? They were pretty good. Bit in all, the best show I've ever seen! Better than watching Bob Walsh play in my hometown! Anyways, great fuckin job guys!!

Thanks to Adam Di Sensi: Wow, YOU PUT THE ENTERTAIN BACK IN ENTERTAINMENT. I thought I couldn't be moved at a show anymore but you put me in my place. You guys rocked harder then a lot of bands I seen recently. Scott you are front man extrordinare. I will say thank you and hope to get hit by the Velvet Revolver again.

Thanks to Sebastien: Hi,

First of all I got to say that I was really impress by Three Days Grace.

I also was so glad to have once again in front of me those guys that I admire for quite a long time now.

Matt, Slash, Scott and Duff gave a great show. With only one album from the band, I was very curious to see what song from GNR and STP would be placed in the set list. There's a lot of hits from GNR that I would have loved to hear be played by Scott. But not those one. But I had a blast when I heard that heavy version of «Sex Type Thing». Wow! And all the song of Velvet Revolver Rock N' fuckin' Roll!!!

I have to admit that I was very disapointed because of the poor quality of the acoustic. In general the sound was not well balanced. There was so much noise, that it was practicly impossible to hear the definition of Duff's bass playing and back vocal. And sometime it was even hard to hear Slash's lead solos...

But I had a fun night!!!

Btw, excuse my poor quality of english. It's not my first language.

Thanks to Dominic: It was fuckin cool and that's what we called a real rock n' roll show! Weiland is a freak and he's a scene god. Sérieusement, j'ai trippé autant que je trippe sur l'album ! Parlez-moi de ça un groupe qui utilise l'ensemble de la scène et qui est en perpétuel mouvement !!! Wow les shows de lumières étaient époustouflants ! And thanks to Velvet Revolver for playin one of my favorite song of the album, You Got No Right. Can't wait for the second LP! So long everyone!

Thanks to Punk Tuality: These guys are really something. Scott can't be human. What a show..everyone I was with was blown away. I can't say I'm a die hard Velvet Revolver fan, I'm more of GN'R and STP fan, but I'll have to say that this was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. The sound where I was totally sucked (25 feet away from Slash)..there was a constant humming from too much bass so the sound wasn't very clear. It must have been clearer away from the stage...but I really didn't care 'cause these guys rocked! Three Days Grace...I don't know how they got so big... The first band which I never caught the name of kicked ass too..awesome energy. They were somehow booed by a small group which obviously knows nothing about music...probably the same group that was singing every lyric of the 3DG show. Anyways, I was ripped off by Axl at the Olympic Stadium 10 odd years ago, Scott and the boys paid me back in triple. We even caught Slash's pick...bonus! Thanks!

Thanks to Pierre: It was a very good show tonight by Velvet Revolver. Got 3 GNR covers, the 2 STP covers and pretty much the usual Velvet Revolver songs + You Got no Right. Biggest pop was for ISE. Venue was pretty empty, no more than 4000. First level was about 50-60% full and the middle and upper deck closed.

However, the sound could have been better as the band was playing so freaking loud, we often could not hear Scott's voice very well. I was about 20 feet in front of the stage on Slash's side. That was a bit of a downer.

Not so many hot girls either..nothing compared to a usual night out at a rock concert in Montreal !!!

Enjoy in the rest of Canada.

Thanks to Marco Antonio: Velvet Revolver 4 life! They rocked the house...it was great to see Slash & Duff back together again. I could do without Dave! Nothing personal but he doesn't fit in the mesh if you ask me! Matt was as powerfull as ever! Scott was on top of his game......3 GnR & 2 STP songs. We all waited 10 years for these guys.........well worth the wait. I can die a happy man now!

Thanks to Pierre: The most rock n roll band of the planet (big big machine)un show incroyables a quand la prochaine visites. tampis pour les abscents. des gars heureux de jouer ensembles, merci!!!TRES BELLE SOIREE.

Thanks to Manon: Wow! It's the morning after and I still can't kick the music out of my head, and it's a good thing.

I'm still in awe! I've been to at least 200-300 show in my lif, and honestly, I've been going less to see shows, 'cause they just bore me, like I've seen it all. But yesterday I went to see Velvet Revolver and it was amazing!!! It's like a breath of fresh air! I mean, these guys are so good together! I wish the show did not end! There was four of us going to the concert and we were all blown away.

The only sad thing is that its probably going to take two years before they come back to Montreal, so I guess I'll have to go to them in some other town, I don't care if where it will be I just have to see them again. Last time I did that was for a Bowie concert in the early 80's.

Thanks to VITTORIIIIIIA: You guys are fucking awesome. That was the best show I've ever fucking seen. Slash your beautiful!

Thanks to Nic: Excellent concert, the music was loud and clear! Only critic, the show started more than one hour after the end of the first group. It made peoples impatient, especially with the rememberance of what Guns did last time the came in Montréal. For the rest, long live to Velvet Revolver!
