Thanks to Sandi Rogers: You Rock Guys ROCK! I loved the show. Slash is better than ever! (better than he was with Guns N' Roses.) Scott, you have an awesome voice. I always loved you in STP. Duff is still wonderful!! as always!!:-) Love you guys!! When are you coming around again!! =)8* (I will always admire Slash and I hope I can play my guitars as well as he does some day.)

Thanks to Killa: Entertaining show. I think my 60 year-old dad even dug it. Slash's guitar playing was frenetic. Seeing Duff in person for the first time was awe-inspiring also. Dave Kushner plays a pretty hard guitar too. Highlight of the show was Scott's synthesizer solo during Illegal Eye. My only gripes are a sloppy version of 'Wish you were here' and a very conservative vocal performance from Weiland. If you're not going to wail during every show on a 60-date tour, don't play 60 shows! Regardless, the show was worth the money. It was good to hear 'You got no right'. Good set list.

Thanks to Spencer: I've seen Velvet Revolver two times. This was my second. I saw them at a multi- band show the Nutcracker. That show they played for like 50 min. This show I wasn't looking forward to as much because they were so untogether before. When I got there I was REALLY FUCKING PISSED to see that Hoobastank was up before. The opening band was more entertaining especially when they covered Whole Lotta Lovin by Led Zepellin. It was awesome. Finally Velvet Revolver came on and blew me the fuck away. It was so incredible. They work together so well, nothing like before. They played twice as long and two encores. I've been to alot of concerts national and local at venues all over the country. This was in my top three shows I've ever seen.

If you ever get a chance to see theese guys take it and savor it. It was amazing. They get you so into the music. It's one big SUPERBAND.

Thanks to Bryan: Wow what an absolutely amazing show. Weeks later and I'm still feeling it. Easily the greatest show I have ever seen. We had great seats too. 8 rows up from the pit. Scott ran up to the lawn seats during Sex Type Thing and on his way down he stopped right next to me. I was less than 5 feet away from him!! What a rush. Every song was incredible and of course Slither was a great song to finish it with. What a night! I can't wait to see you guys next time you come around here. Keep rockin Velvet Revolver!!!

Thanks to Bobby W.: Words can not describe the show Velvet Revolver played at Merriweather, easily being the best convert I've ever been to. Scott Weiland ran up the isle and was about 5 feet away from me, it was so awesome. They put so much energy into their music, it just made the show that much better. Then you have Slash just shredding the guitar. I was definately impressed. Great show Velvet Revolver!

Thanks to Velvet Revolverjersey30d: The concert was an excellent time. At times it seemed that the sound from the instruments was a little blurry, but that didn't affect how much fun I had. The setlist was the exact same as the prior shows.

Scott dedicated Fall to Pieces to him and his wife's 5th year anniversary last night. It was pretty special.

The entire concert was filled with energy and I was going crazy. I realized that I can remember almost all of the show sober, compared to about 1/16 of the show, when I am drunk. Go to shows sober, you will still have a great time. I will be honest, it was pretty damn hard staying sober, especially when I was walking around in the parking lot and seeing groups of people partying. But I resisted temptation.

The entire band was in great form. My sister and her fiancee came with me for there first Velvet Revolver show. They both loved it. My sister especially. She completely loves Scott.

Scott came out into the crowd in the seating section. It was pretty incredible. I was standing about 10 feet away from him when he was singing. I love this fucking band!!!

I was very impressed with Slash's guitar solo stuff. He plays so well. I am not sure if anyone has noticed at prior shows, but I saw Scott playing some sort of keyboard instrument during Illegal i. He was making some pretty cool sound effects during the song.

There is other stuff that I know will come to my mind later. I could probably type forever about the show. This has been my fourth show and I still can't get enough of these guys.

Keep Fucking Rocking Velvet Revolver!!

Thanks to Riley: Modern Day Zero played first and did what they could, their cover of Led Zeppelin's Black Dog caught some people's attention. Hoobastank went on after them and acknowledged that they were "only an appetizer for the main course." But Velvet Revolver was amazing. Everyone was standing and screaming for them when they opened with Suckertrain Blues, and Weiland screamed "We are Velvet Revolver and we play motherfucking rock and roll!" He dedicated Do it For the Kids to the girls, and opened Superhuman by saying that it was "a song about dark alleys and dangerous streets, such as the ones in yonder big city, Washington DC, streets that he's traveled down before, and about some girls, like you, you, you, and you" (pointing to different parts of the crowd). He dedicated Fall to Pieces to Mary, saying that tonight was a special night for him because it was their five year wedding anniversary (cheering) and that she was the inspiration for the song. He pointed to the right wing of the stage, saying she was standing right there watching. This song could have possibly had one of the bigger crowd reactions, everyone was singing the chorus. Towards the end of Sex Type Thing Weiland started everyone clapping with the beat of Sorum's drum pedal and he jumped off the stage and into the crowd and followed by security, climbed up the aisle to the right of the stage, going all the way to the top, and explaining that we were all to start off quietly chanting "here I come I come I come" and get louder and louder, reaching a climax. It was pretty cool. He was walking very slowly and deliberately down on this divider in the middle of the aisle, so everyone could see him above the crowd, and was leading the chanting which grew louder and louder as he reached the stage. All in all it was a great show, Weiland's charisma, voice, and dancing was amazing and Duff, Dave, and Slash were all over the stage, they had so much energy. During one song, Slash did his solo with his guitar behind his head. Before leaving the stage before the encores Duff, Dave, Slash and Matt all would throw picks and drum sticks into the crowd. At the end even Weiland waved before leaving the stage.

Thanks to Brandon: Not the greatest concert I've been to but it was incredible to see Slash, Duff & Matt kick ass like that. I've seen STP before and Scott looked even more strung out this time but it's no mystery what happened to him. I wasn't a big fan of his Nazi SS hat but overall they looked as I'd expected, especially Slash, who looks exactly the same as always. Black leather jacket, black leather pants, black t-shirt that said "Got ho's?," 50 metal bracelets, an army of guitars and a cigarette poking out of a mop of dark curly hair. He even brought out the top hat for their encore. I also loved Duff's Syd Barrett shirt--I didn't figure him for a Pink Floyd fan. But never in my life have I more regretted not bringing a camera! In the middle of Sex Type Thing, Scott walked up the aisle median to the middle of the seating and stopped exactly where I was, right center BB 48, and looked in my direction. I literally could have touched him, since he was within arm's reach but I didn't know where he'd been...plus he had about a dozen huge security guards with piercings and tatoos. But it was an amazing experience; he just stared out into the audience with his mic in one hand and the bullhorn in the other, inviting the audience to sing "here I come I come I come...". That was the highlight for me, but I also appreciated them playing Wish You Were Here and a couple Guns N Roses songs...hopefully these guys will stick together a while and put out another great album. I've been a huge fan of STP & Guns since their first albums and I'm looking forward to the next Velvet Revolver project.

Thanks to Peg: The 5/21 show was incredible. The band is in excellent form and played complete Velvet Revolver set list (2 encores) with a couple STP & GNR classics thrown in (not the overplayed top 40 stuff) for their loyal followers!

We are moms with kids who don't get to shows like we used to but I'm happy to say this brought back all the memories of great concerts in our 20's!! I appreciate seeing these guys in an outdoor venue (not stadium) that really let you hear/see the music.

Velvet Revolver is about the music and their fans - I'm hoping they influence a new generation of preformers/songwriters.

Thanks to Randy: What a great show. Don't remember the set list order. They played most of "Contraband" and Crackerman, Sex Type Thing, It's so Easy, Mr. Brownstone and a great rendition of Wish You Were Here. The main show was so full of energy and adrenaline. Before Fall to Pieces, Scott took the mic and dedicated it to his wife because it was their 5 year aniversary. During Sex Type Thing Scott went to the top of the pavillion and did his speech about rock and roll. Then did "here I come" all the way back to the stage. During Set Me Free, Dave and Slash traded solos for what seemed like 10 minutes. The solo for Illegal I was long too. For the first encore everyone but Scott came out and jammed for a little bit then Slash did the intro to Wish You Were Here, then Scott came out and sat on a stool and sung it. Then they did You Got No Right. Then the second encore they came out and Matt did a drum solo then Slash kicked out some Mr. Brownstone. Then for the intro to Slither Slash and Dave did some weird stuff on the guitars for the intro, it kicked ass. Finally they got to the song and it kicked ass. Modern Day Zero and Hoobastank were pretty bad...I couldn't even watch them. Overall, it was a great night and I cannot wait till they come around again. Best concert I've ever been too.

Thanks to Anonymous: The greatest rock and roll show I have ever seen. Passionately played and sung with seasoned skill and charisma. They nailed their songs better than on the album, all playing PARTS, riffs, not a set of chords. Sex Type Thing was unreal. It's So Easy all it could ever be. Wish You Were Here was covered better than David Gilmore could dream it. The best song of all was their original, Slither, closing the show.

Thanks to Dave Bixenman: Absolutely incredible... the band was full of energy, they were tight, and are at the top of their game.

Thanks to notfornothing01: Awesome show! Velvet Revolver hit the stage at about 9:30 and rocked the hell out of the place. Scott dedicated "Fall To Pieces" to his wife since it was their anniversary and he went running through the crowd, nearly to the end of the pavilion during "Sex Type Thing." He was about 15 feet away from us! It's so unreal that he came that far back, running on the "island" between sections, to the very back of the pavilion. This was my first time seeing Velvet Revolver, and I've got to say, it was the best show I've gone to yet.

Thanks to Jeff: THESE GUYS ROCK!!! The show was great. Scott is definitely a great front man. Tearing through most of the album, it was also nice to hear some music from STP & GnR. One of the best parts of the show was when Scott left the stage and went into the audience and then proceeded to walk all the way up to the last rows in the Pavillion. He was up there for about 10 min, just talking to the crowd and getting them into it. He then "slithered" his way back down to the stage. Slash sounded and played amazing. Duff is a great bass player and to see Slash and Duff standing and playing together was great. One last thing, the encore included "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd. Scott sounded great and Slash's guitar work was second to none. This concert is one not to be missed. Although the cut off time was 11:00 these guys stretched the show an extra 15 min and played a total of an hour and forty-five min. Great great Show.

Thanks to Patrick: WOW!!! You guys fuckin rocked last night it was amazing! Me and my friends were like 5 feet away front row and we all touched Scott haha. Anyway, great concert, awesome stage presence, nice n' loud just the way it's supposed to be haha. When they dropped the black backdrop and it said "Velvet Revolver" all lit up it was so cool. And then Slash took out the doubleneck SG and Huild doubleneck it made the concert so much more worth the price (not just cash I mean the bruises and cuts you don't know about til the next day and the neck pains and loss of voice/hearing). Overall a great concert and I can't wait till you guys come in town again.

Thanks to Jake: Amazing show. First time I've seen these guys and they did not dissapoint. Weiland worked the entire stage and the entire crowd as he came all the way back to the lawn seating area during Sex Type Thing. He chanted "Here I come, I come, I come, I come," louder and louder as he got back to the stage and finished the song. Double Encore, first one was wild horses leading into You got No Right. They finished up with Mr. Brownstone and Slither. This was the best show I've ever seen and I've seen some good shows. Rock on Velvet Revolver!

Thanks to Chuck: Wow what a show at Merriweather.

My wife and I attended with the 5-star package and had awesome front row seats to see Velvet Revolver electrify Merriweather Post Pavilion. I've seen over 20 concerts this year, and this was definitely the best.

Starting from the beginning, we had drinks and food in the 932 Club about two hours before moving to our seats. Several of our 5-star mates got hammered in this process. The Gen Adm Pit 5-star holders took their front rail pit positions 10 minutes before the crowd let in. Our seats, were front row and level with the stage, with a close easy vantage point over the heads of those in the pit. The 930 Club pit security team was also there to control the forward surges and catch those tossed forward by the crowd.

The first band out was Modern Day Zero and not knowing there was another opening act on the billing I thought it was the roadies at first. This band was great though and really drew people in from the beer stands to their seats. Hoobastank came out next. In a lot of the past reviews people couldn't understand why Hoobastank was playing with Velvet Revolver, but it quickly became apparent that the bands guitarist Dan Estrin really had some riffs. It takes a strong guitar heavy band to open for Velvet Revolver and both Modern Day Zero and Hoobastank filled the role well.

But then Velvet Revolver hit the stage and showed why they just weren't another rock show, but a super band. Personally I'd rather see Velvet Revolver together then STP and GnR separately.

Slash's performance was pure unadulterated Slash. He seriously pumped up the mainly Washington DC crowd by telling us "we were the last of a dying breed." The crowd was seriously going nuts, even those to drugged incoherent to speak were drawn forward to the memorizing sound of Slash's never ending string of Les Pauls and three stacks of Marshall amps.

Tonight was Scott's 5th wedding anniversary and he dedicated Fall To Pieces to his wife Mary who was standing just to the right of the stage. Scott also sang most of the night through a megaphone. During Sex Type Thing, he ran up to the top of the Venue's pavilion seating and got intimate with the crowd as reported in past reviews.

A funny part of the show was after the first encore Scott was sitting on a bar stool, and Slash had a double neck 12/6 string SG. They were doing a Pink Floyd cover Wish You Were Here and someone in the crowd through a joint on stage. It bounced over Scott's lap and landed on the stage next to him. He looked down, recognized what it was and smiled, then shook his finger and mouthed "naughty naughty" to the thrower.

After the last encore, Slither came out and I'm pretty sure the entire audience is still speaking hoarsely from screaming along with Scott's vocals. With the last sounds of Merriweather's big house amps still echoing off the surrounding landscape the band accept the adulations of the crowd and sincerely looked like they enjoyed us as much as we enjoyed them.

Now that we're home after spending the night in a Resort near the Venue, we're still bouncing off the walls from last nights performance. Velvet Revolver is serious about rocking their fans - and this night had to be the best rock and roll ever.

PS: This is venue is great!
