Reviews (3) [ send in your own review/pictures of the Eifel show ]

Thanks to Zaverino: Rock Am Ring, wow it was a big Festival in Germany, I was in the frontline. It was great!!!

Sucker Train Blues: first Duff came out, to play his intro bass line, then the rest of the band came onstage too. The crowd went completely nuts and there were crowd surfers everywhere. There was so much energy in this song, Dave, Slash and Duff were running all over the stage, while Scott made his famous dance moves. As always it's a great opener.

Do It For The Kids: it was pretty cool, lots of people seem to know the words. Slash played his nice Les Paul

Headspace: When the song started Scott asked something like: what's this in your head? It was a great song to pit and the crowd was really into it.

Superhuman: Just like Scott said, the song is about sex drugs and rock n roll! Velvet Revolver played very agressive and so was the crowd, did I mention crowdsurfers before?:P

Fall To Pieces: after all the hard stuff before, this was a little slow down. The crowd sang along very well.

Dirty Little Thing: they played it a little faster then on Contraband, lot's of headbangers in the crowd. And a great solo of course

Big Machine: there was a huge crowd response, there is always a groove when they play it.

It's So Easy: a lot of people were nicely suprised when they heard it, I think they did not expect a GNR song. Every single person in the crowd knew the words, it was great.

Sex Type Thing: Here i come i come i come! That's what Scott sang to announce this song, Slash had his black BC Rich, and Scott had a short version of his speech in the middle.

Set Me Free: it was great! As always they played an extended version with a nice duel between Slash and Dave.

Wish You Were Here: The first encore, Slash came out with his tophat and his doubleneck SG. Damn it was so beautiful, he played with real feelings and emotions. The crowd response was great.

MR. Brownstone: Everybody knew the lyrics and went completely nuts, they played it great!

Slither: The closer, IMO the best song of the night. Of course it was extended and Scott sang this one fuckin great! What a great rock show!!!!!!!!

Thanks to Lennaert: I came from Holland to the Rock Am Ring festival in Germany because of their amazing line up. I saw many of good gigs along this weekend, but they saved the best for the last day..Velvet Revolver! This was the second time I saw Velvet Revolver live. The first time was at the Lowlands festival in Holland, which was a good gig. But this one just blew me totally away. To see Velvet Revolver appear at such a big stage and see the band members running from the right to the left side of the stage is just an amazing experience. The band has grown better and better and the show just really kicked ass. Scott quite impressed me at Lowlands but this time he really, really, really kicked ass. He is such a powerfull frontman. When he's on stage he is absorbing all your attention. He really impressed me and along with Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) he was the best entertainer I saw this weekend. I don't know who of the two was better, because they have both a different style of entertaining, but they where both very impressive.

The crowd was going fucking crazy and everywhere you saw crowdsurfing and moshing. Highlights were the beautiful cover of Pink Floyd's 'Wish You Where Here' and 'Set Me Free' where Slash and Dave had a guitar duel. Fucking great!

Unfortunately I'm not able to go to the Fields Of Rock festival in Holland. So I hope Velvet Revolver will be back in a couple of months for a club show. It's worth to wait for them! Rock And Fucking Roll!!!

Thanks to Branko: Velvet Revolver hit the stage around 8:30 beginning with Sucker Train Blues. The crowd was really freakin'out. Everywhere you saw people stage divin' or just jumpin' around and dancing in the "pit". So it was a real amazing and agressive show. Slash was wearing his top hat and playing a red Double Neck SG during Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here". I guess it was the first time to see Velvet Revolver for most of the people in the first lines so I think it was a gig none of them will ever forget! They really rocked the show it was Rock N'Roll from it's hardest edge to spot at the festival!

Oh by the way there was this Pro skater from MTV called "Bam" or something like that bangin' backstage at the Velvet Revolver and HIM gig.
