Thanks to Burt Bombast: Good posing, terrible sound! You couldn't hear anything, but vocals and Slash's solos. Slash didn't seem to be very motivated. All the other guys did a nice show.

The set was a bit short and I also expected some new material of the fourthcoming album.

All in all I was a bit disappointed. The headliner, Black Sabbath made a better impression to me.

Thanks to Stone: The show was fucking great. Thank you boys for coming..see you next time.

Thanks to The Rock Radio.com: "Rock n' Roll is about participation. Rock n' Roll is a two way thing. We - up here on stage - try to give to you; but you have to give back." Scott Weiland had no easy job fronting Velvet Revolver in Vienna's Stadthalle on June 20, 2005. And this had nothing to do with lack of enthusiasm by the audience or the band. The problem was the sound.

No matter how hard former Guns N' Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and ex Wasted Youth Dave Kushner tried to hammer through tunes like the opener "Sucker Train Blues" or "Do It For The Kids", their raw power hardly made it past the PA system.

Either Velvet Revolver's own audio technician had ingested all the drugs frontman Scott Weiland is not allowed to take anymore or the Black Sabbath sound guys were doing a terrific job in protecting their band from any competition.

"Fall To Pieces", being the only ballad in the setlist, was the only song that was not completely ruined by the bad sound. The faster songs like "Big Machine" or "Slither" were hardly recognisable.

As per usual, there were a couple of Guns n' Roses songs in the 60-minute set: "It's So Easy" and "Mr Brownstone", although the band bypassed "Used To Love Her" - another live favourite.

To wrap things up, Duff addressed the audience rejecting once and for all the split rumours: "We made it over the big pond and this time won't be our last".

Hopefully the Grammy award winners will get a decent sound next time round.

Thanks to loudog: Yesterday Velvet Revolver supported Black Sabbath with Ozzy in the "Stadhalle Vienna". They played second after Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society.
