Thanks to Cari "Crazy Train" Cirone: Over-all, VR was great! Slash had a ton of solos and Dave Kushner showed off some pretty sweet dance moves. There were two encores and a lot of committed fans that night. The only bad thing about the concert was the weird voice-box that Scott used. It would have sounded a lot classier if he'd just sang regularly.
Thanks to Kim: Seeing Velvet Revolver at the Tweeter Center changed my life. It was a true inspiration to me. And some real rock n roll s****!!! It was the best concert I've ever seen. Rock on Velvet Revolver!!
Thanks to spatchboy: This is my second Velvet Revolver concert and they lit that place up!!!!! I did not stop jumping around the whole time! I saw em in Rockford and was amazed at their showmanship. The place was half full and they knew it but you could not tell by their performance, those fuckers played like rock gods and they brought it just the same in Tinley Park. Great show can't wait to see them again! Rock and Roll lives again!!
Thanks to Domenica: WOW, all I got to say is the Velvet Revolver concert was AMAZING!! Not to mention Chevelle too but Velvet Revolver you were awesome out there! I was having so much fun screamin' & dancing haha! Later that night I lost my voice. Anyways this was my 2nd concert I've ever been too but this one totally beat the 1st. The next time you come to Chicago I'm defently getting tickets! I am like the BIGGEST fan of you!! Seriously I'm in love with you guys! I'm glad I finally got to see you for the 1st time and it was worth it. Hope to see you again:) ROCK HARD!
Thanks to Brett B: THIS was an amazing awesome show not to mention it was also my first! Velvet Revolver rocked that place like no one ever could. ROCK ON Velvet Revolver!!!!
Thanks to John: This was the third time I had seen Velvet Revolver play. I saw them once in November at the Rosemont (Allstate Arena), one in April in Rockford and this time at the Tweeter Center. This was a good show as I was pleased with Chevelle opening up for them. When Velvet Revolver came out the crowd gave them a hard-core reception. Scott was very polite thanking the fans for "inviting" the band to our party. At all three shows I've seen, he's been very fan friendly and seems to appreciate the fact that we spend our hard earned money to see them play. Matt Sorum was out for this show with a broken hand and I was expecting that to hinder the show. But I could not have been more wrong. His replacement, Brian Tichy was amazing. He was rockin' out the whole show. You could tell immediately that his heart was into it 100%. The set list was pretty standad from the shows I've been to. They also played "Come on, Come In" which was really sweet! Although this was a great show, the Rockford show takes the cake. At that show they played "Surrender" with special guests Rick Neilsen and Bun E. Carlos from Cheap Trick (Cheap Trick is from Rockford). And also at that show Scott came all the way out into the crowd. I'm talking like 6 sections from the stage, one level below where my buddy and I were sitting. Again he was saying that without the fans, the band would be nothing. I love how grounded Weiland is. He really appreciates the fans. In times like this where egos are HUGE, like Oasis' Liam Gallagher, who couldn't give a sh#t about fans, this is great to see. I stayed after the Rockford show and got the set list and one of Slash's picks. I framed the set list and pick with an 8X10 of the band on a Velvet Revolver background and all 3 tickets from the shows I went to. It's awesome! I can't wait for the next album now that they are a cohesive unit. GO Velvet Revolver!!!!!
Thanks to Mary: This was my first time to ever see Velvet Revolver live and the energy was insane. Aside from being completely starstruck, these guys rocked the place..hard. I never expected to hear alot of the older songs they played and definitely didn't expect the encores. By the end of this show my voice was gone. Definitley worth every penny. We all got tickets for the next show tomorrow night in Springfield at the fair, so if your in the area and haven't been, I highly suggest you make a point of it.
Thanks to Amy Vala: This show was now my 6th time seeing Velvet Revolver. They once again blew my mind. I usually fly solo - but this time I brought my friend Merce. I was down in the sweat of it all -2nd row pit- flaring my new hair color of vibrant red. Non stop dancing and rocking- I also got a boyish grin from Dave that caught me off guard. A couple looks from Scott which melted me and then like always it is over before you know it - I cried at Wish you were here for personal reasons. Overall AMAZING... awaiting the next show in my hometown Springfield,IL. I live like 5 minutes from the fairgrounds on an estate and am stoked if anyone would like to hang out for an after party?
Artist151@aol.com We have 60 acres so there is plenty of room to rock.
Thanks to Julie: Loved Velvet Revolver!!! Our first time seeing the band! A little STP, a little Guns and Roses...I took pictures of the band with my cell phone off the screen that look surprizingly good!
Two encores were cool too! Question...why didn't Scott bother to say goodnite Chicago or something? What was up with that? Anyone else think that was kinda rude or who cares?
Thanks to Mike Smith: We saw Velvet Revolver last October in Cincy right at the stage and it was unreal. In Chicago we were about 20 yards back and we got to see the whole stage and how Velvet Revolver worked the stage. Scott is the Mick Jagger-David Bowie rock and roll showman. No better lead singer around this planet. Duff and Slash and Dave put on a great show whaling away and putting off great energy. No better bassist around, no better lead around and Dave not only played great rhythm, when he took lead he showed what he could do!! Bryan did great on drums but we missed seeing Matt. (Get well soon)"Come On, Come In" kicked ass but then again the whole show kicked ass. When Velvet Revolver took the stage Scott said "we play rock and roll" -thank god for rock and roll!!! - The 2 opening acts played something but it wasn't rock and roll.
Thanks to Lisa: This is mine and my husband's second time seeing Velvet Revolver!! We loved the first show and this one was even better!! We had pit seats and were right against the stage just below Slash! We had friends of ours with us that haven't seen Velvet Revolver before and they totally thought they rocked!! Matt was missed but the guy that filled in did an awesome job!! Good luck to him in whatever else he is doing!! Once again, GREAT SHOW!!! We are still all talking about it!!
Thanks to Tim Jensen: FUCKING AWESOME. I was front row again (I'm the blonde kid who was on the big screen a lot). I caught Chevelle bassist towel, Taproot water bottle and Slash and Duffs guitar picks. Weikand looked at me for like 1 min and wasn't singing during Wish You Were Here. He was looking at me with the doped out of his mind look but I know he doesn't do that. I also saw his wife on the side of the stage. It sucked that Matt wasn't drumming.
Thanks to Stacy: It was totally AWESOME! And this time I stayed lol. I would go back to Springfield one which is 3 hrs from here but I DON'T CARE! They're worth every penny of it! I love you guys! You should go on tour with Rise Against
Thanks to Phil: Unreal! This was my second time seeing Velvet Revolver and this time I was 5 rows away, center stage, in the pit. It was definately a high energy atmosphere. Some cool details about the show were when Slash played the guitar behind his head and when Scott played around whith the synthesizer (however you spell that, you get the point). It rocked! Duff threw a gatorade bottle out which I grabbed but the guy infront of me got Slash's pick. Come on, Come in blew me away as well as Wish You Were Here and Slither of course. Hoped for Dead and Bloated but maybe they will play that Wed. in Springfield...I'll be there! My brother got to body surf and got passed to the front row where Scott was centerstage bending over the audience belting out Sex Type Thing. My bro was rockin right in his face before security grabbed him up. That had to be an amazing 4 seconds! Keep rockin Velvet Revolver!
Thanks to Keenan Reilly: Bottom line Velvet Revolver are straight up the hard rock gods of our era. This concert was the sixth time I have seen them live and there is no question they just keep getting better and better. Scott has officially out slithered Bill Bailey (Axl Rose) and Slash has decided to be an unrelenting axe carrying shaman. By the time Mr. Brownstone's drum intro began the crowd was in such a violently sexy electric frenzy the security crew got extremely nervous obviously remembering the devastating GNR riot in St. Louis. I left the show knowing Rock and Roll had been resurrected and is showing no signs of going under anytime soon. Rock, sweat and parental fears R n F n R.....one
Thanks to STUART: Became a Velvet Revolver fan over the last month thanks to my brothers who've been to two other shows already. The three of us attended Chicago and WOW what a great rock and roll time! We were dead center in the pit and out of the many concerts I've been to, I've never been that close. What a different prespective the pit puts on things. Velvet Revolver definitely made a true fan out of me on Saturday night! They rock and I can't wait to see them again!
Thanks to tribalfusion: The show was amazing. Not only were Taproot and Chevelle amazing (Chevelle which recently had a split with their own brother bassist included guitar player for Filter "Geno", and they kicked ass. The Velvet Revolver team pulled out all stops and song after song just kicked ass nine ways to Sunday- physically as well as literally. There non-chalant pummeling of hit after hit was just a ass kicking gone right so to speak-IT FELT GOOD!!! And they seemed to feed off the crowd-the more we gave-the more they brought down the hammer. Thank you for bring "THE ROCK SHOW=TO CHICAGO!!"
Thanks to Eric: This is the second time I have seen them and they keep getting better. The show was great, a true rock show. When Velvet Revolver covered Pink Floyd, that was the price in admission itself. Finally a true Rock and Roll band...
Thanks to Brett: This show was filled with a lot of energy. They played most of the great songs off of Contraband and then they played some good cover songs from Guns and Roses and STP. The only dissapointing thing was that once Scott Weiland finished his vocals on the last song, he just walked off stage without saying anything and that was the last you saw of him. The concert was also only an hour and a half long with probably twenty minutes in breaks for the two times they walked off stage. On another note, covering Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd was definitely unexpected.
Thanks to Velvet RevolverMonkey: I went to this show and it was absolutely amazing. I was center on the rail, right in front of Scott. The energy was amazing, the band was amazing, I thought I was gonna die at a few points but it was all well worth it.
Thanks to Nitrayn: That was an awesome show last night, I ended up third row in the pit by nights end!!
The vocals got muffled during the heavier songs a little bit, but hey it's the Tweeter Center. The energy in the pit was amazing, I had tons of fun.
I was suprised there was no DLT. I kinda hoped for No More No More, but oh well it was still awesome.
The Wish You Were Here was great, with the sing along.
Thanks to pdawwg: Hey!! I went to the show last night! So bad ass!! They did Sex Type Thing, Crackerman, It's So Easy, Mr. Brownstone and a rare version of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here!! I didn't see that coming at all lol. It rocked. Slash and Duff came out looking like something from 1985! I was very impressed by Brian Tichy on drums. He kept good time and had good rolls and fills, a perfect backup for Matt. They did Fall to Peices and dedicated to the injured drummer. Get well soon Matt!!
Thanks to Dan B: This was a completly amazing show! Both opening bands Taproot and Chevelle were great and Velvet Revolver once again was mind blowing. The slight change in the setlist was a nice surprise especially the addition of Come On, Come In. Also Wish You Were Here was amazing, I think everyone at the venue was singing along with that one. I can't wait to see Velvet Revolver again they seem better ever time.
Thanks to Velvet Revolvergroupie69: Hey everyyone! The concert was too awesome!!! Was the best headache ever! The sound was pretty good to me though. Bunch of drunks by me this one chick kept doing cartwheels! pssh...I seen that "I love my hoochie" or something on the screen for the cell phones! My favorite performance was Do It for the Kids or Fall To Pieces (of course!). Does anyone know what happened when Duff said at the end of the concert went up to the mic and said "F*** you"...and I don't think he was joking..he's also a very good singer..almost better than Scott!
Thanks to Alex Lindquist: This marks the second time I have seen Velvet Revolver Revolver and they just blew me away once again. The startup bands Taproot and Chevelle were jack squat compared to Velvet Revolver. A lot of the songs were the same since last time I saw them, but they changed it up a bit by adding "Come On, Come In", which was played really well, as well as "You Got No Right". The highlight song which I hadn't heard is their cover of Pink Floyd's "Wish You were Here". Oh my God, they played it so well and got the crowd swaying to it and everything. Brian Tichy did a great job of filling in for Matt, he's an excellent drummer and it didn't hinder the experience of the concert one way or another. I also liked that the concert was longer than the their last tour, almost two hours long. I brought two friends who aren't familiar with Velvet Revolver, and when it was over they were going "Oh my God, these guys are incredible! How come I never hear about them?" Velvet Revolver is one of the greatest bands to see live, period. When they come to your town, buy some tickets!
