Thanks to Benjamin Deery: This was a really incredible show. Despite having been a G N' R fan from the age of 16, I have never ever seen any of the original band's members perform live. You can imagine the surge of adrenaline that overtook me when, whilst strolling down the Universal City Walk one fine day during my relaxing Florida Holiday, the words 'Velevet Revolver' singed their way across the lake, from the Hard Rock lcd screen, directly into my eyeballs. I immediately ran over to get tickets. On the night of the gig itself, I was amazed at how good the turnout was, considering how recently the show had been announced. The show was a real treat. All of the band were on fine form (seeing Slash and Duff live in the flesh was a particular kick for me) and I've taken a renewed pleasure in listening to the album after seeing this show - in fact, I don't think I've even removed Contraband from my CD player for almost a week now. 'Wish You Were Here' was a great choice as a dedication to the victims of Katrina and it was admirably performed. As a hardcore Led Zep fan, I was also delighted to see the inclusion of 'Rock N' Roll'. All in all, I think this might very well have been the most awesome evening of my life.

Thanks to MAC: This is was the first time I saw Velvet Revolver, man those dudes kicked SO MUCH ASS, it was great! Velvet Revolver is such an awesome band. The show was rock solid. I've been reading a lot about "super group" and how Velvet Revolver is one. I'd like to say that this is kind of a discredit to the individuals that make up the band or any other band. Velvet Revolver is a band, plain and simple. It's like trying to explain the unexplainable. These dudes will rock your ass! Thanks for a great show Velvet Revolver!

Thanks to Bruce: We were on front row and were blown away. Damn fine show. This was my second time seeing Velvet Revolver and was definitely the better show of the two. Slash was amazing, made the guitar talk all night while lookin like it was effortless to play like the real guitar virtuoso he is. Scott worked the stage like a man possesed and had the crowd in the palm of his hand. Duff was solid as they come on bass and stalked the stage like a man intent on giving a good show. The fill in drummer was amazingly good. Dave stayed in the corner mostly (as usual) but played very well. Brian Johnson was great but would have liked to have heard more than one song from him. Overall the entire show was great. The band kicked ass, sounded great and the crowd was great. The proceeds all went to the Red Cross for the hurricane victims so it was a great time for a good cause also. If you have the chance to see these guys in a smaller venue like the Hard Rock or HOB I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. They are a great band but really seem at one with the crowd and music in a smaller setting. Overall a great show.

Thanks to Michael Kapica: I have seen them recently in Tampa and at the Hard Rock last fall, but this show was the best I have seen. They were connected and all on the same page. Everything sounded so great, Tampa was too loud. I bought eight tickets and even brought my skeptical brother, he was floored, my kids ages 7&9 also were there and loved it. Know this show was longer than most and really can't wait to see them again.

Thanks to Samaroo: It was an amazing show for a great cause all the admission price and tips from drinks went to help the cause which is a beautiful thing. And all the people working there were volunteering, and that was cool as well. On to the show. Great show I seen Velvet Revolver everytime they hit Orlando and they proved why they are my favorite live band. They added"Dead And Bloated" to their set-list and it was WILD....they did an amazing job and when Brian Johnson hit the stage to play "Rock N Roll" the Hard Rock went NUTS!!! They did an amazing job, and Slash did an extended solo on Sex Type Thing which was very cool as well... AMAZING SHOW.

Thanks to Orlando Sentinel: Singer Scott Weiland took a few political shots when Velvet Revolver played Hard Rock Live in December, but his remarks were nonpartisan when the band returned on Tuesday for a hurricane relief benefit.

"This is your party and it's a benefit for a very, very just cause," Weiland told the crowd that packed the floor for a show in which 100 percent of the profits (including bar tips) was earmarked for the Red Cross. "There is nothing political about it, which is the beautiful thing about it."

Velvet Revolver had been booked to play the opening concert at the new Hard Rock in Biloxi, Miss., an event postponed by Hurricane Katrina's devastation. Instead, the band volunteered to play Orlando "and scrounge up a few bucks to send to those who genuinely need it," Weiland said.

The "few bucks" added up to a $250,000 check that Hard Rock presented to the Red Cross Tuesday night, said Hard Rock spokesman Jeff Jones.

Weiland called the event an honor, but it was more like a treat for fans. Velvet Revolver rocked with skill and conviction last time, and Tuesday's show was equally compelling, with enough new wrinkles to avoid being a carbon copy.

After making fans wait until 9 (more time to drink for the cause), the band opened with an explosive"Sucker Train Blues," the lead track on the group's Contraband debut. Weiland, who maybe weighs 98 pounds, looked Bowie-esque in his bright red and black suit, accented by a white vest, crimson tie and black military hat.

His vocals were strong all night, even though he sprayed his throat from a small bottle a few times near the end of the band's 90 minutes. More important, Weiland, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan have rock-star charisma to burn.

With ex-members of Stone Temple Pilots and Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver is a supergroup, but Slash is the superstar. His guitar solos, which range from primal moans to intricate arpeggios, lift the songs above the one-dimensional power chords of other bands.

The band augmented its own material with STP songs such as "Dead and Bloated" and "Sex Type Thing." On the latter, Weiland briefly donned an audience member's pink hat and engaged in the strange strutting and spinning that for him passes for dancing.

All the harder stuff makes the ballad "Fall to Pieces" even more beautiful, with Slash's cascading guitar accompaniment.

There was a bit of an odd moment when AC/DC's Brian Johnson joined the band for an encore version of Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll." It would have been more meaningful if he had been singing an AC/DC song, but he hit the high notes.

Velvet Revolver's cover choice was an inspired take on Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here," a sweet moment in the generous encore.

"That song goes out to the people we're doing this benefit for," Weiland said. Like the rest of the show, it was a sensitive gesture that crossed party lines.

Thanks to Drew: Well this being my 4th time seeing Velvet Revolver you think things would start to get boring by now. But last night probably turned out to be the best performance I have have seen Velvet Revolver put on. I was suprised by how crowded the show was considering they just announced they were doing this show 4 or 5 days ago. Scott was so into it! Every single song you can tell he was giving everything he's got and his dancing was out of this world. He spoke a lot about the hurricane victims and thanked everyone for contributing to the red cross. Dead and Bloated was awesome! That maybe got the biggest reaction of the night. After playing Mr.Brownstone Scott left the stage and Brian Johnson from AC/DC came onto stage and performed Zepplins "Been a longtime" with the band. After that Scott came back on, him and the band put on a killer perfomance of Slither very similiar to the one seen during the Live 8 concert. Whoever the hell that guy is filling in for Matt Sorum on drums is a bad ass! Goddamn during Set Me Free he was doing some crazy shit. No disrespect to Matt but damn this guy blows him away. Slash was quiet didn't say anything the whole night just belted away solo after solo, Duff was rockin out. Kushner sucked, he did nothing, barely moved around and even at times actually sat down. Overall tho, amazing show Weiland really nailed this one

Thanks to Dennis: Another terrific show from Velvet Revolver!!! This was the third time that my wife and I were entertained by Velvet Revolver. Scott kicked tremendous ass during this show and it was for a great cause. They played great and also it was nice to see Brian Johnson of AC/DC join the boys for Led Zepplin's "Rock and Roll". Good times. See you again soon.
