Thanks to Local: Same set list. I love STP and like GNR but the chemistry was missing. They just were not into it. It really sounded terrible. I have been to this venue many times and never a problem with sound. That dude was right about the soundman not doing his job. Seen VR at Borgata last summer and it was great outdoors. They need some time off, make a record and commit or split. Scott seemed to not be a part of things as before. A great cover of 'Wish You Were Here'.

Thanks to Al: This show was definitely not as good as when I saw them at the PNC Art Center in May. There really seemed to be an absence of chemistry this time as opposed to the summer show. Scott's vocals were shot. I had a hard time hearing them and I was about fifth row. I though the band generally seemed to be somewhere else and Duff looked a little pissed at something while Slash was removed. This was not about a band performance but more individual performances. Almost a note for note copy of the previous show, I would have liked a little variety. Generally, it was a decent show, but at $100 a ticket it should have been a better effort.

Thanks to Andrew: Greatest concert I have ever been too. The band was great but the main reason I went was to see Slash play and let's just say he made it 1000+X better.

Thanks to Ashley: Best f***in Velvet Revolver show I've been too!!! They were the shit that night. I am also sad they didn't play 'Come On, Come In' but what can you do!!! Other than that the song line up was the shit!!! I was soooooooo sad that they didn't take their shirts off!!!! But that's just me!! They did do it at the other ones why not this one!!! I think the only bad thing was the old fuckers that were there and the anal looking people that stood in the way. I hate being short!!!! I got like right up front so that was the shit and I stayed behind and found Slash's pick sooooo that was cool. ALSO U must add the way Slash can play that guitar is as good if not better than sex!!!!! And any woman / gay man that finds his o so f***in hot would say so too!!!!

Thanks to Karyn Wisniewski: I though the performance was great, I agree with the others, that Scott was very difficult to hear, but other than that I had a great time. They did come on very late, but driving to the show Slash had a radio interview and said start time was 9:15, (tickets said 8:00) so maybe there was some mixup there. It did suck standing for 3 hours before they came on. I have nothing to compare it to, this was my first time seeing them.

Thanks to Terrible T: The show wasn't what I was expecting. I saw them in Philly back in Nov. 04, that show was great. This show was dissapointing. You couldn't hear Scott's voice and the music sounded muffled, like too much bass. I really noticed it on Sex Type Thing. The band did seem like they were somewhere else and something was wrong. Rumours flew about Scott being late and not in good shape. All in all the show as good, but not as good as I thought it would be. "Wish You Were Here" was great, I hope they record it.

Thanks to Julie: We were front row against the railing, pretty much center stage and could not hear one word Scott sang. I don't know what the problem was. In between songs everything sounded fine but as soon as he would start singing all we would hear is music. I was extrememly disappointed, not only because I spent $100 for a ticket but because this was my first time seeing Velvet Revolver (which I had been very excited about). I would have given the show an A+ rating had we heard Scott, but since there was no sound I would rate the show at at B-. Great performances, was floored to hear Crackerman, Sex Type Thing and Mr. Brownstone.

Thanks to Mike: I could deal with the late part, if it was worth seeing. It was by far the worst concert I have ever been to. Maybe if the band is going to party before the concert, they need to leave the sound guy out of it. It sounded like shit!!!! I came to this concert with high expectations after seeing Audioslave a month before in AC, but was majorly dissapointed. That's great Scott Weiland just walk off and don't say a damn thing to the people who helped him get there. If anyone video taped Audioslave a month ago, please send it to Velvet Revolver so they can pick up a few pointers. What a shitty show!

Thanks to Patience 4 Axl: It was standing only, so I got there early enough and parked myself in front of Slash's mic. As usual, the show was amazing! The setlist was the same as the last two times I saw them. Talking to people around me though, (after standing in the same spot for 3 hours you start to make friends) this was the first show for many of them, so the setlist not an issue. Unfortunately no new songs. I got there early enough to hear soundcheck and nothing new there either.

Slash was in great form. At the end of Slither (20 or so seconds) he played guitar with his teeth (not his tongue right, as per that other thread), then twirling his guitar around, up in the air and kicked over an amp. He kept the tophat on the entire show. The other times I saw them, the hat only went on during the encores. He was really into it! No long rant by Scott this time, which was O.K. Duff was all over the place as usual, but unfortunately kept his shirt on all night. No drum solo from Matt. Dave was great too and had a smile the whole time.

My "personal" highlights...
-After the first song the crowd was just chillin waitng for them to start the next one. Slash was standing right in front of me looking down at his guitar adjusting something. I let out a loud SLAAAAASH. He looks up, smiles at me, leans over to the mic and said "Hey".

-One time Duff comes over and I'm waving up at him "DUUUUF". He smiled at me and nodded.

Thanks to Philly K-Rock: Problems exist in Velvet Revolver. The band will deny this for obvious reasons.

I say this because band chemistry does not exist with Scott. Velvet Revolver is 4 musicians, and 1 odd man out. Ask ANY roadie, Scott is just a guy who shows up, sings the songs..and them he is gone. It's as if they are now just going through the motions without emphasis or heart in the songs. Here are the facts..

Duff seemed "displeased" the entire show, as if his mind was somewhere else.

I've seen Slash over 30 times and have NEVER seen him deliberately knock his amps over. This was odd people.

Scott did not say goodbye. He just walked off. Although this is not unusual, it sucks for the fans. Especially to those who shelled out $100 to be there and support their already millionare heros.

No crowd interaction. None.

No new songs. NONE. Slash will play ANYTHING especially in front of a crowd. He likes to test out his songs in front of an audience. Ask him. Shit, he tourd with the Illusions without them being released.

Bottom Line:
Velvet Revolver needs to make new music
Scott needs to be PART of the band..
..or sooner than later the shit is gonna hit the fan

that's my 2 cents

Thanks to Duffdiver: Started at almost 9:30 was over by about 11:15, hoping that's not the case tomorrow night.

The show was great but it seemed like the guys weren't their usual selves. Duff's daughters were there (so the shirt stayed on which I didn't register until It's So Easy), no STT rant from Scott, no intros of songs by Duff or Slash, no drum solo by Matt.

That being said, one would think that I was disappointed.....could NOT be further from the truth....we were front row in front of Duff's mike stand and while Slash didn't come over to our side of the stage for the first few songs, Scott was all over the place (as was Duff) and they were full of energy.

All I can say is that the promise that Duff made to be hot, sweaty, and ferocious is for TONIGHT NEW YEAR'S EVE!!! And he better come through for us!

Thanks to Bob: Velvet Revolver didn't go on until about 9:20, even though it was supposed to start at 8:00. When they came on, Slash seemed as if he were wasted. He was skipping notes to songs and at one point during the show he had to lean up against the Contraband board for a minute because he looked like he was about to fall down. Scott Weiland hardly sang any of the songs because he kept putting out the mic to the audience and putting it over Matt Sorum's drum set. The sound was absolutely terrible! When the band went backstage for a minute and came back out, they seemed a lot more focused on the songs. It weasn't all that bad, but it was not worth $100 at the Borgata.

Thanks to Jake The Pig: This was by far the best Velvet Revolver concert yet!!!! The band went on 1hr 45mins late...but it was well worth it! Scott's vocals were TOP NOTCH!! Dave's guitar playing was amazing, Duff and Matt were also both incredible and Slash is still the most astonishing guitarist I've ever seen!!!! I am a bit disappointed that they didn't play Come On, Come In. A+++!! WELL worth the $100 I spent for a ticket!!! You guys just keep getting better!!
