Thanks to Cynthiamehta: I was on Slash's side of the stage and had my own private concert six inches in front of my face! That man is beautiful on the outside and on the inside--a real positive Being. I read that it was his first Sturgis rally, so he was in his Metal element at the Chip and full of excitement.
Duff, Scott, and Dave came over frequently but didn't stay as long as Slash did!
Fifteen years ago I was a medical student living at that Ft. Meade VA hospital on the highway to the Buffalo Chip and the only way I could get through all that loneliness the other 51 weeks of the year was my GNR! Fifteen years later, out in the middle of nowhere, an explosion of guitars, drums, and singing screamed away any loneliness out of that place forever. It will never be the same because of the magic those men brought.
Slash made sure I had a guitar pick, which I will cherish forever because of all this culmination of feeling, experience, and connection! Matt passed a drumstick to a friend, who gave it to me for my son.
They played a mixture of primarily VR, first lightening bolting the crowd with "Do it for the Kids" to scare the sh*t out of people who weren't familiar with their KFA thrashing; some STP, "Vaseline," mimicking the rolling pipes of a Harley (or other road sled of your choice) and some GNFNR, namely "Mr. Brownstone" (one of those that reverberated through the walls at Ft. Meade.) "Patience," a song I hear in my head when I can't get to sleep, was in the encore. Slash played the double acoustic guitar and Matt accompanied on the tambourine while Scott, Duff and Dave sang.
I have been looking at their meet and greet tour schedule, and hope that they make it to Madison or Milwaukee Wisconsin sometime.

Thanks for pick, the show, and the love:)
Thanks to My3sons / Sandy: Incredible!!! Finest concert experience of my life. It was my 1st time seeing VR (a dream come true finally!) and I paid extra for the Buffalo Chip's VIP upgrade so we were right up front against the stage left of center. The guys were just on fire, so much energy - jammin' and dancin' and screamin' and putting it out there!!! No one puts on a better pure rock n roll show live IMO - true legends! Wished we could have seen more of Slash's performance, but he and Scott came over and sang/played right in front of us a couple times and being right in front of Dave and Duff - wow! - can't complain. My husband asked me if I noticed Duff even smiled at us (of course I noticed!!!) probably because we were going crazy, jumping and screaming...it was soooo much fun! The guys all looked AMAZING and it was almost surreal seeing them up close in the flesh - awesome! I'm still giddy about it!! We even got to see Slash for a few minutes backstage before the show (OMFG I was just so trying not to completely freak out!!!), but I was too shy/awestruck to approach him. Matt and Scott came walking thru as we were standing there too. I almost felt as though I was in the middle of a dream. Oh, and Matt handed me a stick after the show!!!
We drove 9+ hours out to the show then turned around to make the trek back home almost right after the show. Way too cool!!!! Loved the whole show!
