Thanks to Chris: Tuesday's show was excellent if it had a few hiccups along the way.

To start off the opening band Kill Hannah seemed mediocre and not yet suited to playing a stadium-type show. The lead guitarist had some interesting tone and playing, and Rebel Yell was well done... but still a cover. On the whole decent but forgettable.

Alice In Chains of course picked things up (especially since most of the people had shown up by then) and played a rocking set list (with noticeable clipping initially with the guitar and bass as noted above, but they took it in stride). Rooster was a well done if predictable ending, I would've enjoyed No Excuse more. However they looked and sounded great, and it was amazing seeing these guys on the road. I think Will Duvall does Staley justice.

VR's set was on the whole solid and very enjoyable, however their two opening songs from Libertad left more to be desired and the drums overpowered the mix. Eventually though things picked up with Sucker Train Blues(with a great bass intro from Duff) and the band was off and on fire. The band sounded great (Slash and Duff especially), had great presence (Scott, Slash and Duff in particular), and the covers were well done but it would have been nice to hear some more originals from Libertad. My one major criticism of their set aside from the average opening was that rhythm guitarist Kushner had essentially zero presence in the mix due to the other three dominating. It was a treat though hearing Duff's killer bass up front.

Overall a great performance by AiC and VR which managed to overcome any nitpicking issues I had, I enjoyed it so much that I wish their sets were recorded on DVD for me to enjoy any time.

Thanks to NedMark: The best VR show i've seen....It was my fifth one and to me it looked like the band enjoyed it as much as the fans...Scott was in top form and Slash was amazing...

Thanks to Zach: The show at Mansfield last night was one to be remembered, but one that could have been remembered a little better. Openening band Kill Hannah played a 30 minute set including Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell", which was the highlight of their emo-metal, dull set. Veteran rockers Alice in Chains picked up the pieces with their very rocking set, which was sadly plagued with sound difficulties (guitar and bass clipping). Their set ended quite dully with the expected "Rooster", but overall the band sounded and looked great. After quite a long wait, the lights dimmed and the rap played before the silouhette of Slash began ripping out "Let it Roll" behind a scrim. The band played through 7 original songs (with little energy aside from Scott) from both Contraband and Libertad before playing "Vasoline", one of 6 STP and GNR songs (would have liked to have heard 2 more VR songs and 2 less covers...). The softer middle set was quite interesting, but ballad "The Last Fight" was a highlight of the night. The energy went way up from there, and peaked during "Set Me Free", and encore "Mr. Brownstone", "Sex Type Thing", and "Slither". Overall, a great show. As I said, I think a couple less covers would have been great, and a bigger opening with more energy would have topped it off. They sounded and looked great as always. Hats of to Velvet Revolver.

Thanks to Kevin: The setlist was basically the same as previous shows (slightly different order). Due to the 11:00 p.m. curfew at the Tweeter Center, the set was a little shorter. Velvet Revolver took the stage at about 9:35 p.m. If I remember correctly, "Pills, Demons & Etc." and "Wish You Were Here" were not played. The highlights of the show (at least for the crowd) were the six Stone Temple Pilots and Guns N' Roses covers. The crowd didn't seem to know any of the songs off "Libertad" which I was surprised. The show was not sold out. The venue looked to be at about 75% capacity. Attendants were offering seat upgrades at the entrance. I thought the Scott and the band sounded terrific. I had a great time with a beautiful girl by my side.

Thanks to The Rover: Great show last night, it was nice to see VR back in states giving it there best. Their version of Patience was one of the best songs I've seen done live and the way Scott was able to get the crowd into was nice. The set list included a lot of VR which was great, especially to have them play both Grave Dancer and Last Fight was great...and Fall to Pieces was amazing.

Overall one of the best shows I have ever seen, love the energy of these guys on stage, especially Duff..but then again maybe that's cus I got a guitar pick from him.

Can't wait to see these guys in CT next week.
