about the site

This site was created in May 2003, when Dave, Duff, Matt, Scott and Slash announced that they had formed a new band together, and had been working on songs for the movies 'The Hulk' and 'The Italian Job'. Soon, in the first week of June of that year, the band announced 'Velvet Revolver' as their name. That's when this site acquired the name www.velvet-revolver.com.

This site is a Velvet Revolver fansite, meaning that it is run by a fan for the fans. This site is not run by the band's management or record label. This is not a place for wild rumours and speculation. I strive to present only accurate and confirmed information about the band and their music.

The information on this site focuses on Velvet Revolver and the band members. All information found on this site was compiled for this site only, unless noted otherwise. If you see any similar information on another website in the way it is presented here, then it was copied from this place. This happens a lot. Be sure to check the original source, since updates are made frequently and copied information might already be outdated!

My personal thanks go out to my lovely Ivy, for her love, help and support, and to Dave, Duff, Matt, Scott and Slash, for creating their kick-ass music and getting my hopes up again for a brighter future for Rock N' Roll.

Also many thanks to everyone who contributed to the site, especially the VR Correspondents around the world, Karl Larsen for letting me use his photos on the site, everyone at Irving Azoff, Sanctuary Group and RCA Records.

Fair Use Clause

Sec. 107. Limitations on exclusive rights: Fair use

Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 106 and 106A, the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phone records or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright. In determining whether the use made of a work in any particular case is a fair use the factors to be considered shall include -

(1) the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes;

(2) the nature of the copyrighted work;

(3) the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; and

(4) the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work. The fact that a work is unpublished shall not itself bar a finding of fair use if such finding is made upon consideration of all the above factors.
