VR performed live acoustic on KROQ!

VR interview from 3FM radio the Netherlands!

Yesterday, I recorded an interview with Slash and Duff that aired on 3FM Radio in the Netherlands. It was played after the 'premiere' of 'Slither' on Dutch radio. MTV2's Making The Video airs Saturday, May 1st!

All confusion has ended: MTV2 will air the 'VR Makes A Video' and the music video of ' Slither' on Saturday May 1st at midnight EST (9 PM PST). The show wil run right after Headbanger's Ball.

Billboard Chart update for 'Slither'.

'Slither' video premiere postponed!

Yesterday, I already reported the mixed updates about the airing of the 'Slither' world premiere and making-of on MTV2, Which was supposed to air Tuesday, then today, then next Tuesday. At this moment both MTV and the official VR site took down the airing dates, the official site saying the new date will be announced soon... stay tuned!

'Slither' video premiere confusion!

The official site reported that MTV2 will show the world premiere and the making of 'Slither' tomorrow night, April 29th, at 9:00 PM EST. That information is still on the front page, but recent information changes on MTV's site suggest that the video premiere has been pushed back to Tuesday May 4th, also at 9:00 PM EST. At this moment we do not know which one of these sources is correct, so I'd keep an eye on MTV2 tomorrow night! In other 'Slither' video news, the video has already aired last night on MTV, and a few surprised VR fans caught it!

DVD extra's on 'Contraband' cancelled!

Thanks to Scash, we know that the DVD extra's that were supposed to be included on the U.S. edition of 'Contraband', have been scrapped. MusicTAP.net reported in their news earlier today that the special edition release of the cd has officially been scrapped, and HMV Japan, the original source of the information about the special edition, took down the order pages for the release.

Translated 'Gitarre & Bass' interview with Slash.

It took me a while, but it's finally up: I translated the full article from the German 'Gitarre & Bass' magazine from the April 2004 issue that hit stores a few weeks ago. In the interview, Slash talks about how VR got together, how they recorded the album, and what he thinks of the music industry these days. Some side-steps include Adler's Appetite and there's a small section where Slash talks about some different instruments he used on 'Contraband.' Enjoy!

'Bodies' on UK version of 'Contraband'!

Yesterday you could read about the DVD extras on the U.S. digipak version of 'Contraband', today we found out that the U.K. version of the album will have a bonus track. 'Bodies' will be included as the 14th track of the album, according to HMV Japan. This track is most likely the live version VR recorded at the El Rey Theatre last year. The song is a Sex Pistols cover.

US version of 'Contraband' in digipak with DVD!

Thanks to Loungfly1z and Dave, we know that HMV Japan has a pre-order listing on their site for a new version of 'Contraband'. According to the site, there will be a digipak version of the album, including a bonus DVD with 'Set Me Free' live from the El Rey Theatre in 5.1 Surround mix, the 'Slither' music video and a 20-minute making-of, as well as the six online 'Slither' teasers from the official site!

VR to play Las Vegas' Hard Rock Hotel on June 11!

According to Reviewjournal.com VR will play the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, NV on June 11. Tickets are $27 and will go on sale today at noon PST. Read more info in the Concerts section.

VR on Norwegian TV's 'Lydverket'.

Slash and Duff appeared on the Norwegian TV program 'Lydverket' on April 21st. The interview was pre-taped in March, and shows some new promotional pictures of the band, as well as some footage of the 'Slither' video. You can stream it online here, but beware, it asks for a username and password. You can sign up for free by clicking the 'NY BRUKER' link at the far top right in the popup screen. You will have to fill in the left column on the registration page, and for those who can't read Norwegian, the fields are, from top to bottom: first name, last name, desired user name, password, password (again), email address. Then make sure only the bottom one of the three checkboxes is checked, so you won't receive their newsletter but are agreeing to their user license. Then press 'Fortsett' and you should get your verification code in your email inbox. Enjoy.

'Slither' #13 on Billboard Mainstream Rock Charts; #21 on Modern Rock!

We finished the clean edits and mixes for the Velvet Revolver record. We are also making plans to record their upcoming tour for future live CD releases. Scott and I are working on a cover of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" for a soundtrack. This is a Scott Solo thing not a VR thing. And it's coming out really well if I do say so myself. One of the best songs ever written in my opinion.

MTV Article on upcoming tour!

"Velvet Revolver To Make Things 'Tight And Sweaty' In May" is the title of a news update that was posted on MTV today. It's a report on the band's touring plans that also announces that the band wants to headline some European festivals later this year.

Warm up show for VR rumoured in LA!

Blabbermouth.net reports that VR will play a 'warm-up' show in Hollywood, CA on Sunday May 9th at the Roxy Theatre on Sunset. This show has not officially been confirmed yet.

Velvet Revolver tour announced!

[..] Slash has told Launch Radio Networks that the band will kick off their first nationwide tour on May 13 in St. Louis, Missouri. Dates and venues for the trek, which will run through July 22, could be announced as early as Tuesday (April 13).

As previously reported, [..] singer Scott Weiland got the green light last week from California authorities to tour with the band after completing a six-month stay in rehab following last October's drug arrest.

Slash told Launch Radio Networks that Weiland will have few restrictions on him once the group hits the road. "I know that there's gonna be somebody with him, as there is probably for the whole lot of us," he laughed. "Scott's not the only troubled guy in the band when it comes down to it — but all things considered, he's free to do whatever he wants to do." [...]

The official VR site was updated today with a teaser video download of 11MB. The 51-second clip shows conceptual footage that was reportedly shot for the upcoming 'Slither' video. The site announced that more clips will be posted weekly!

Scott cleared by court to tour with VR!

[..] Scott Weiland has been cleared by California authorities to tour with his bandmates in Velvet Revolver, Billboard.com can reveal. The former Stone Temple Pilots frontman has spent the past several months in a court-ordered drug rehabilitation center after pleading no contest last year to heroin possession. But Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash says Weiland will be on board when the band hits the road next month in North America.

"Scott actually just got cleared to tour today," the guitarist tells Billboard.com excitedly. "We've been planning dates this whole time." The plan for the band, which has played just one live show to date, is to drop in on "medium-sized places" leading up to the June 8 release of its RCA debut, "Contraband."
