help out

To help keep this site running the way it does now and even growing in the future, please help out by making donations to help cover the incurred hosting costs.
I'm not asking for big donations although they are welcome, but rather numerous small donations. If everyone gives $.50 - $1.00 on a regular basis that would be a tremendous help.

Camp Freddy to release Surrender for "Employee of the Month" movie

Thanks to Velvet Revolver: Billy Morrison recently talked about what Camp Freddy songs will be in "Employee of the Month" movie. "We have finished three tracks, of which two will make the movie and the soundtrack album. One is Cheap Trick's 'Surrender' (which features Matt Sorum and Scott Weiland) and the other is a choice between '20th Century Boy' (by Marc Bolan) and 'The Jean Genie' (by David Bowie). The tracks came out really well."

Matt talks about Rick Rubin and the album

Thanks to Brian: Matt Sorum talked to ABC Radio's ePrep that no producer has been chosen yet, but the band has spoken with Rick Rubin, hoping to bring him on board. They hope that the cd will hit stores in the spring 2007.

"We've been talking to Rick Rubin," Sorum revealed. "So hopefully he's gonna come on board, because I think he's just a great song guy. And his advice to us, which was great advice, was, 'Write as many songs as possible.' He's listened to a lot of our riffs and different parts that we have. He's a very honest guy, and even if he doesn't produce us, he's given us a good sense of what we need to go for, and that's just great songs."

The cd will be called "Libertad" but Matt dismisses Scott's statements that it'll be a concept record. "You know, Scott said something about a concept album," Sorum told ABC Radio's ePrep. "But you know, the concept is let's get it done, you know what I mean? (laughs)"
