Dave Posts about Tour Rehearsals

To my peeps....
Well, we started rehearsals last week for the new tour (South America) and the new songs sound KILLER !!! Its cool to finally figure out how we'll do them live. Not sure yet how many we'll do, but they sound great ! Also, I really want to thank everyone for making the forum on this site come to life ! (And you guys thought I didn't read that stuff). I appreciate all the support & good vibes put forth by all of you. Got a couple days off, then its back to playin all next week. I'll give another update then (some pics too).

VR Add 16 Tour Dates in US, Canada and Europe

VR Add First US Club Show of 2007

Softdrive Records' First Release Coming in May

Softdrive Records. Scott's label, is set to release it's first album, The Actual's 'In Stitches' on May 29! 'In Stitches' is The Actual's followup to 'Songs On Radio Idaho' from 2003. Softdrive Records has a new web site up and running and is also gearing up to release albums by Tommy Joe Wilson and Scott Weiland later this year. Check it out through the links below:

Slash Jams with Blackberry Smoke in Austin

Thanks to 93x: Slash made a surprise appearance Thursday night (March 15) with southern rockers Blackbery Smoke at the Hi Lo in Austin, TX. According to LAist, Slash walked on stage to play a trio of cover songs — "Honky Tonk Women", "Feel Like Makin' Love", and "Highway To Hell". Watch video footage of the performance at www.laist.com.

Velvet Revolver Record B-Sides

Thanks to Scootvr: According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, VR were in Lava Room Studios tracking B -sides just before heading into New York for the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony. According to bassist Duff McKagan the band is no stranger to the studio. "We recorded the song 'Come On, Come In' for the 'Fantastic Four' movie soundtrack here and liked the sounds and the vibe."

VR perform at Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame

VR performed two songs last night at the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony. They honored both David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar by playing a song from their respective eras — 1978's "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love", and a shorter rendition of "Runaround" from 1991. You can re-watch the event through AOL Spinner if you live in the U.S. or Canada. For some reason, AOL or The Hall Of Fame blocked viewers from outside Northern America. Launch Radio Networks reports: VR has lined up two songs to perform for Van Halen at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Monday (March 12). VR to induct Van Halen into Rock Hall Of Fame

Thanks to Daisy518: Velvet Revolver has been tapped for Van Halen's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Scott and Slash will give the induction speech for honorees Van Halen. In light of recent rumors, it's unclear whether Velvet Revolver will perform at the event in Van Halen's place — and whether any of the members of the latter band will even be present to accept the honor.

For the first time ever, VH1 Classic will air the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony LIVE on Monday, March 12 at 8:30 PM/ET. Music fans will get to see and hear Van Halen, R.E.M., Patti Smith, The Ronettes, and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five get inducted into this esteemed musical institution as the action and music unfolds.

The ceremony will be telecast live from the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City on VH1 Classic and MHD: MTV Networks' high-definition music channel. In addition, a special two-hour highlight edition will premiere on VH1 on Saturday, March 17 at 9:00 PM/ET.

VR Stretch Out On 'Libertad'

Artisan News Services published two video clips of an interview with Dave Kushner. He talks about the direction of the music on 'Libertad' as well as recording guitars with Slash.

Dave: "You know it's totally different. It's totally different yet there's similar elements obviously, like the five of us but as far as songs I think they're a little more thought out, they're trying to stretch in different directions but then it's still us, so."

Dave: "You know it's funny, I've actually known Slash the longest. We went to Junior High and High School together and we were friends. The funny thing is when I came into the band Duff and Slash play so loud that I'm standing here and Duff's there and Duff's bass is so loud that there's this wall of sound and I could never really hear Slash and I could never really hear what he was doing and everytime we've been writing it's kind of the same actually. You know it's like I come in with my stuff and he comes in with some of his and we can't really hear each other then we listen back to it and change stuff around. But I love the guy. I've known him since he was one of my early guitar heroes in High School because he was that great back then."
