Reviews (10) [ send in your own review/pictures of the London show ]

Thanks to Lisa: What an overwhelmingly breathtaking show. Velvet Revolver are the greatest and most extreme rock "N" roll band ever. They all have so much charisma and the intensity of their stage presence was phenomenally breathtaking, true Rock N Roll style. Thank you so much Velvet Revolver for an awesome night.

Thanks to Liam: Sad all you People who focus on negative points, if you can find them! I loved every minute of Velvet Revolver and we should consider ourselves lucky to see such great legends of our time. Slash was amazing, I damn near fainted, haha. As a GN'R fan obviously my main focus was on Slash, Duff n Matt but was I impressed by Scott, such a talent. I didn't stop jumpin from the first note til the last. Truly an an amazing night and I only hope I can see such brilliance again.

Thanks to ckck:: The show was great! Me and my friend got up in the front in the middle, could not be any better places and that after waiting only 1h 40 min. The songs were great since they had a good setlist with only Velvet Revolver, STP and GNR songs. They also looked great and sounded great. What was even greater was that I got one drumstick from Matt! They were all great, Slash, Scott, Duff, Dave and Matt! I use "great" alot! I got a lot of pics I'm going to try to post soon.

Thanks to Ash: It was the best thing I've ever been to in my life!! I was right at the front in the middle, in the best place you could possibly be ever! Although I got so squashed I still have the imprint of fence on my hips! They did some Roses stuff which was amazing but the whole thing was so cool. They had great audience interaction and Slash spoke! - I've never heard him speak before!! I now have Slash's fag coz he spat it out and I got a sound guy to get it for me!!! I love Slash and Velvet Revolver so much!!!!!!! xxx

Thanks to T-Bird: Let's just say it blew my mind. The set included nearly every album track as well as It's So Easy, Used to Love Her and to my surprise Mr Brownstone. Awesome.

Thanks to Julie: Once again they kicked ass, I wondered if they could be as good as Sunday but they were. I think the guys seemed to enjoy the gig more as it seemed to talk more to us. I would also like to thank Slash for stopping his car on the way in to the gig to sign my Snakepit album, Velvet Revolver picture disc. The man is a true legend.

Thanks to Jack Fletcher-Brown: What can I say? Wow..I saw V.R last time they played at Hammersmith back in September and they were very very good then, if a bit lacking in confidence, but tonight they came back with all the attitude and confidence of a band that have been going strong and touring for many many years. They looked solid as a rock and were great entertainment. It's So Easy and Mr Brownstone were welcomed as were the STP songs. All round an amazing show, Duff was quiet vocally but let his bass do the talking, Dave jumped around like he was on springs, Scott was good, but sometimes you felt he didn't want to be there, Matt was amazing as ever on drums and even had time for a drum solo and quick chat. Then there is Slash..he was astounding, really was, he played amazingly, his soloing was perfect, his attitude was rock n roll and his attire humourous. Anybody who has questioned going to see v/r...well you should go, cos tonight it was absolutely amazing, thanks lads!

Thanks to James: Absolutely amazing. I was only one person from the front through the whole show and was only a few feet from Slash playing. It was mad. The band were great. Loved Mr. Brownstone - it's one of my favourite GNR songs. Scott was slightly unusual, but still a great frontman.

Would have rathered they didn't do any STP covers. I wasn't a big fan, but still to see my favourite living guitarist perform right in front of me was unbelievable.

The Datsuns were also very good. Shame about Biffy Clyro. I can't stand them.

I'm looking forward to Velvet Revolver's next tour can't wait.

Rock on!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to Myriam: Great, awesome gig! Bologna VS. London 0-10...

Thanks to Raysgigs: 09 and 10 Jan 2005, Velvet Revolver + The Datsuns, Hammersmith Apollo, London. The Datsuns did a good 30 mins of uptempo rock but I feel they have blown their chance of hitting the big time. Velvet Revolver have 5 London shows on this UK tour. They are a proper rock n roll band that's for sure. Feat members of Guns And Roses and Stone Temple Pilots with more visits to drug rehabs and tattoos between them than most bands. Their debut album " Contraband" has been voted album of 2004 in Classic Rock mag .They play most of the album inc great versions of "Slither" , "Big Machine" and "Set Me Free" along with the superb "Fall To Pieces". There is a great atmosphere in the house both nights. Singer Scott Weiland looks more like Suedes Brett Anderson than your typical long haired rock singer. They performed 2 Stone Temple Pilots tracks "Crackerman" and "Sex Type Thing" but Scott's vocals are muffled to say the least or maybe just drowned out by all the loud distorted guitars on stage. They throw in 3 Guns and Roses tunes that the crowd go mental for "It's So Easy" ,"Mr Brownstone" and "Used To Love Her". The Sunday show was slightly better as it lasted for 1 hour 40 mins and had one extra song to the following nights set which was a cover of Aerosmiths "Same Old Song And Dance" . So a good show but I would still say I prefer Whitesnake, Motorhead etc . Check my other reviews of other bands at www.raysgigs.com
