Thanks to Jerry: If you've never had a chance to see Scott Weiland sing......get your ass up and go buy a ticket. He could sing the label on the back of a milk carton and you would sit in awe. Let's see, this is the 3rd time my wife and I have seen him perform (2 X's STP and 1 Velvet Revolver) and this is the second time my kids have seen him perform (1 X STP and 1 Velvet Revolver) and this is the second time I've got to meet Scott in person and this is the 1st time for the wife and kids. I met him about 5 years ago at a meet and greet here in San Diego and again at the Velvet Revolver concert in Chula Vista. My wife and son won 4 tickets on a local radio station (we would've bought some) and so I set out to see what I could do to have us all meet him at the show. I did my thing on the sly so I could suprise the family and thought nothing was going to happen because it was now the day of the show. We go to the show and find our seats and right at 8 o'clock Hoobastank comes on. At 8:05 my cell phone rings and I'm being told I have 4 Meet & Greet passes waiting for me at will call. I get off the phone and tell the family and they are like....WHAT!!?? I got the passes and realized that my camera was in the car. Shit, this venue has a strict no camera policy. I decide to try my luck with the truth. I told the security guy....I'll call him Bob to protect his job, that I needed to go get my camera out of the car. He's like...no can do. I explain that I got these Meet & Greet passes and I have to have a picture of all of us with Scott. After begging, really, begging for like 10 minutes he gives me the eye and says "GO" motioning to the parking lot. I bail to my car, get the camera and come back and he waves me right through. Okay, the show!! Kick frickin' ass. Like I said earlier...Scott has such a presense on stage and his voice is so awesome that you'd have to be in a coma not to like this show. Now it's after the show and were waiting where we were supposed to so we could get back to the Meet & Greet area. Mary, Scott's wife is there hand picking people to go back and I'm thinkin'....okay, they'll come back for us. Not!! Security then says we have to leave the venue. We (my family) explain the situation that someone called me during the show and we were supposed to be able to go back. They don't care and tell us to start walking. My wife says to call the number back from my cell phone of the person that had called me during the show. I do, but this isn't the person that had called me. The person who had called me had borrowed her phone. I explain to her the situation and she says...."Oh, you are supposed to come back here". She comes out, but she can't do anything because she doesn't have the credentials to say so. She says, hold on and I'll be right back. I'm like...hurry!! Not 1 minute later she comes back with this dude that is with Velvet Revolver and he tells the security... "those four are with me"!! Holy crap...we are being escorted back. We get back to the room with about I'd say 30-ish people and we wait. Mary is walking around the room talking with people. I get up the nerve to introduce myself and my wife and kids. Now how do I say this without sounding rude. Mary could have been a total bitch if she wanted to. She didn't have to talk to anybody and there she was talking with everyone. She is so nice. She talks with us for a few minutes and then she's off again. Well, about 12:10am or so.....Scott makes his entrance. Wow...frickin' awesome. People start making there way towards him to talk and have picures taken with him. We do the same. We get up there and Mary introduces my wife and I by name to Scott. Awesome!! We all shake his hand and then we ask to have our picture taken with him. We all gather around and take an awesome picture. I shake his hand again and tell him.."Awesome show"!! Could've thought of something better to say, but when your standing there next to him your at a somewhat loss for words. We hangout for awhile more and Scott bails back into the backstage area thanking everyone as he's leaving. I walked back over to Mary and thanked her for everything. She was basically...."sure, no problem, I'm glad you guys could make it"!! Glad we could make it? Crap, I'd give up my left thumb to make it. So all in all............awesome frickin' night. The show was great and the after show was even greater. Only a few regrets:
1. I missed Fall To Pieces because I was getting the passes at will call.
2. The so called "adults" behind us were throwing crap at people the whole time...even hitting us a few times.
3. When we got around Scott for the picture....not wanting to delay him or have everbody move around...my kids weren't right next to him...my wife and I were. (me, Scott, wife, daughter, son)
4. Didn't get a picture with Mary. Mary was real nice to us and would've loved to have a picture with her. I guess if that's my only regrets about the concert....I guess I can live with myself. Gotta throw out some last minutes props to a few people: "Bob" the security guy for letting me bring in my camera, the girl who answered the cell phone when I was trying to get backstage, the guy that came and got us, Mary....thanks for everything and last but not least....Scott Weiland. Thanks for taking the time to pose with me and my family. As far as the picture goes....if you know me, you've seen it because I'm showing it off to everyone I know. I'm not putting it on the web for two reasons: Scott may be used to being plastered all over the internet, but we're not. Also, to show the person that hooked me up with the meet & greet passes that it wasn't so I could get a trophy picture to show off......my whole family and I are true fans. Now get your ass out there and go see Velvet Revolver in concert...you won't be disapointed.

Thanks to Luis Orozco: The BEST FUCKIN SHOW I have ever been too, two of the greatest bands ever and I got to see them live. Slash was incredible on lead guitar and Scott just gave the best rock and roll speech ever.

Congrats to the band, keep rockin hard like you always do!
ROCK & FUCKIN ROLL!!!!!

Thanks to In Utero: Velvet Revolver kicked off their Electric Wonderland Tour with this show and from what the fans told me the 5 Star VIP tickets they purchased was well worth it. They saw the band's sound check, got lots of free merchandise, got to meet the band, got lots of stuff signed, four free drinks on the house, everyone was really pleased with their package. So I strongly recommend the iloveallaccess tickets if anyone wants to meet the band, it's well worth the price.

I choose to go to this venue in San Diego vs The Arrowhead Pond this weekend in Anaheim. The main reason was the enviroment just seemed like a good pick and it was.

I arrived around 3:30 and was the 5th person in line, the parking lot was empty. So I was really really happy to know that we'd be the first ones in the pit. Wendy arrived around 4:30. Met lot's of fans and had a good time waiting out front. We were moved up to the gate's entrance and warned hilariously by a rookie security guard reading his speech from a piece of paper. Using a megaphone he warned us all that we would be patted down for knives, weapons and cameras. That was repeated at least 10 times until we were finally let into the Ampitheater court yard area at 6:30 sharp. We were let into the pit at 7:00 sharp so we had 1/2 hour to gobble down a chili cheese dog, fries and a beer while not losing our place in the pit line. We were patted down, but my purse wasn't searched. We went straight for the stage, perfect frigging front and center. I haven't went front and dead center since the Roxy Show. The number one thing that I appreciated the most about this show was the organization and timing of this gig. Everything went so smoothly and "on time!". The stage was already set up so there was no lag in time for a set change. Hoobastank came on did some songs and were off. It seemed like only moments before the lights went out and Velvet Revolver went on. So fucking sweet.

They were incredibly tight and like everyone said awesome. Number two most bitchen thing the sound was so good, not blown out at all. You could hear everyone. There were lots of hats being thrown on the stage and worn by the band. Duff put on a beanie, lol. Scott caught a fluffy white boa and threw in our direction it landed on my head, my hair got caught in it everyone was trying to pull it and take me with it, LOL. So we are up front and center with plenty of room and we notice a little girl about 9 years old behind us. I told her "don't worry your going to be up front when Velvet Revolver comes on". She was with her dad but I thought she is going to get squished when Velvet Revolver comes on. So we put her in front of us and kept our hands on the rail to guard her. The crowd is predictable having been to about 12 shows now the first three songs are mellow then you have to brace yourself. We were pretty squished in mid concert and loving every fucking minute of it. Wendy ever faithful never stopped snapping photos I took a lot too. I told Wendy just jump up and down so that's what I did through the whole thing it was awesome.

So then "Sex Type Thing" comes on and after that that was it I had enough. I was friggin pissed (I get pissed really easy, lol) I told Wendy I'm out of here and asked security in front for my purse and thank god my camera was in tact. The first thing I did when I got out of the pit for was look for my wallet! Miraculously I didn't lose a thing. You can't smoke in the pit so I got out got a coffee had a cigarette. I watched the last three songs in plain view of the stage up higher near the entrance to the pit.

That was it for me, no more shows for awhile I'm so happy with that perfomance I might be able to wait til next year to see them play again.... j/k.

Thanks to eXtreme: Indeed it was an amazing concert. It was muuuuuch better than the Rolling Stones concert I went to at the Sports Arena.

I didn't get any feedback from Scott, but Slash needed to be A LOT louder. I could barely hear him. The rhythm guitar and bass and drums were overpowering Slash's solos.

Alas, it was still an amazing show. Slither was awesome, as was Fall to Pieces, You got no Right, Mr. Brownstone, It's so Easy, Used to Love her.

I LOVED IT when they did the guitar battle on Set me Free -that was amazing.

Great job Velvet Revolver - Can't wait 'till they come back again!

Thanks to Lana: Awesome show!! And some interesting comments from Scott as he mentioned that rock n' roll spawned a revolution and that's what we need right now! I couldn't have agreed with it more. It was obvious that Scott was proud of talking about SD a lot!

Huge crowd reaction came especially during the songs "Crackerman", "Its So Easy", "Slither", "Do It For The Kids" among others. During "DIFTK" the crowd went wild during the opening line and sang along: "Went to Fast I'm Out Of Luck And I Don't Even Give A Fuckkkkk!!! which was so rockin...I really enjoyed that song this time around.

Scott did an outstanding job on "It's So Easy" and probably the best version I've heard so far.

Matt did a mini version of a drum solo before the band busted into some song that I forgot the name of (just like they did in GNR days. ) Slash and the rest rocked out and towards the end of the show, Slash went up to the mic and said "Nice Tits" to somebody in the pit.

Opening act, Hoobastank, was alright but there were some haters in the crowd (mostly the older fans of Velvet Revolver), which I think is still very disrespectful to the people who like Hoobastank and to the band in general. After hearing some of their songs besides the two singles, they're a pretty decent band. The venue got fuller closer to Velvet Revolver coming on stage and I got to say that it was a really diverse crowd, but a lot of old school GNR fans as well (the older crowd).

Like everytime Slash did his solo and appeared on the huge monitors everyone cheered.

I do agree it was one of the best shows, but I still prefer smaller venues. Wouldn't miss it for the world though, all these times I had to drive out-of-town to see Velvet Revolver and it was nice to have them come to my town for a change, even though I live about an hour's drive from Chula Vista, more up North.

Didn't take any pics cause I was searched and besides no cameras allowed...should of brought my camera phone but forgot. Oh well maybe next time. I'm sure ppl who went there from here have some pics for you all to see!!!

Anyways thanks for coming to San Diego Velvet Revolver! and gotta give BIG props for Scott, he put on a stellar show!

Thanks to Top_Hat_Blues: Great show. Scott acknowledges his wifes parents, who were in the crowd. He also declared that Rock N' Roll is a dream and that it has caused revolutions in the pas, and that's what we need now and that got me feeling pretty pumped, as I feel the same way. On a similar note, he acknowledged the military, since SD has a lot of Marines stationed here and said they are over their fighting and dying for us, emphasizing the word, "dying" and that there is no politics in that. Meaning that how you feel politically, doesn't mean you don't support the troops. Scott also mentioned that SD is a home for him, even though a lot of bands will say that about every city, but SD is that for him because that's where he got started, refering to STP. Slash also called SD the speed capital of the world.

Slash was great of course and lived up to what I was hoping for. Riping through all the solo's, and giving that classic Slash stage presence and aura onstage. Same goes for Duff, Matt and Dave who was very energetic onstage. I also noticed Scott playing some sort of Keyboard, or Midi proccesor, something similar, during the breakdown of one of the early songs (I think it might have been Headspace, but I don't remember) that added a different feel to the song, with a lot of ambient noise, but sounded good nonetheless. You Got No Right, Sex Type Thing, Used To Love Her and Slither seemed to get the biggest response. I was hoping they would play one of their cover songs as the closer, after Slither, but unfortunatley they didn't. Great show and worth the money, just wish I could have afforded closer tickets. Didn't bother to show up in time for Hoobastank, so I can't comment on them. Seemed like a strange opening act anyway.

Thanks to Scotturley: One of the best concerts I've ever been to. Thanks again to Wendybird and IN UTERO for their help with my daughter(she's a petite 13), she couldn't of had a better time too. She wanted to also thank you IN UTERO for the drumstick Matt threw to her, you helped get. She scored big with the stick and a pick from Slash. All in all the pit rocked, met some really cool people. Thanks to everyone who made this such a good time. Most of all thanks to the band! Uou guys Rock! Matt MVHS LOL, long time no see, just want to say Hi.

Thanks to Bobbie: Rock Gods. My faith in Rock and Roll has been restored and energized. This was a real kick ass rock concert that I will never forget and at the same time have a hard time remembering:-). I was in Rock Heaven. Had it not been for the Dyke Rent-A-Cop that kicked me out of the pit, it would have been even better. The band just exceeds all expectations for great sound and showmanship. They move like fire across that stage, smooth and strong. Intense and yet they give off this great attitude of not giving a FUCK what anyone thinks about who they are, making you love them even more. It was tight and precise. It was moving and spiritual. Rock is a spiritual thing and when a band can move people to feel, that's the key. Velvet Revolver has the class and the balls to be real rock legends! Scott Weiland, thank you for giving the finger to Corporate America and for making up for Axl Rose's failure here over 10 years ago. He had a freaking GREAT BAND and lost them. Duff, Slash, Matt, I loved it. You rocked my world and made me slither all over that ampitheatre. You guys sounded better than awesome and I can't wait to see you again and get past the Rent-a-Cops for the opportunity to shake the hands of MASTERS. Scott, again, you have a gift. I pray you take care of your gift and continue to share it with the world. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is just ooozing from you. I look forward to that induction. Hope to see you again! For all the rock chicks, thanks for the music!
