Thanks to Wags: First off did anybody else wanna bat the shit out of the lead singer when he tried his whole reverse phycology crap. I think his exact phrase was "are you chickens." I felt bad for the bass player too he looked so sad, but hey that's what you get for joining a shitty band. Then after a bit of delay fucking Velvet Revolver came on and def best concert I've been to. I was with a bunch of people I came with right in front on the floor. I was shoved up on the rail, but I touched Scott and Slash was right in front of us. Duff was fucking amazing prob the best in the show, stage presence wise. Have to agree with what the other person said Slash was pretty dam funny. Of course I was right next to the speaker so hearing Scott's speech was hard but I clued in on the hatred of bush and that was enough to make me happy. We even made friends with the security guard, one of the few nice guy the rest were fucking assholes...fucking enourmous too. I loved the "not gonna carry the sins of the past" line and throught it was very true but sure I would have loved some old songs. But they did play Brownstone which is one of my fav GNR songs. So all in all amazing concert next time the assholes at BPT better fucking advertise. ROCK AND FUCKIN ROLL

Thanks to Jose Arroyo: One hell of a show. Took my daughter 10 year old brat loves her metal and rock. Ran in to old friends and we had the best spots at the show right at the barrier just a few feet from band. I don't know if the band was surprised to see a lil girl in the front with a mosh pit just feet from her but it was the best surprise she got. She went nuts when Scott started Headspace just an arms length from her we might head out for last days of Ozzfest tour to see them again going to Jones Beach to see them in a bit.

Thanks to Jeff: First off I still don't understand why the best modern rock band and the best lead guitarist since Jimmy Page played in a 10,000 seat arena (not to mention it wasn't even half way filled because there was no advertising for the concert). Slash was unbelievable (what did you expect). The only things I was disappointed about was that Slash didn't improvise any of the solos and he played them exactly as he does on the cd. Also the noise level was really way too loud. My ears were honestly ringing the night after the concert. A lot of the time you couldn't hear Scott singing, but in Wish You Were Here and You Got No Right he was great. Overall it was an awesome conert but more than anything the band put on a great show. The lights were great. Scott went out into the crowd and gave an inspirational speech about rock and roll, and on the first encore Slash came out with a double neck guitar with the infamous top hat and the place exploded. PS the next day my friend's mom had a meeting at a marriot down the street and 2 huge tour busses pulled up and she met the band not even knowing who the hell they were.

Thanks to Caitlin: Velvet Revolver was FUCKING AMAZING!!! I had the time of my life, and they were on the top of their game. I'm so obsessed; fought for a drum stick and still only managed to get away with half of it in my hand. Slash and Duff, sexy and incredible, looked awesome, played better. It is so worth it guys, go out there get drunk and mosh your heart out to the music!

Thanks to Joe: Wow, what a fucking show. I got on the floor just as Hoobastank's set was ending. I was not impressed by them at all. I'm surprised they were the opening act for this tour. I'm sure it wasn't Velvet Revolver who wanted them on tour, it was the record company. Anyway. The place was half empty all the way around. I couldn't believe it. The entire general admission floor was half full. Velvet Revolver hit the stage about 9:40, and just kicked ass all the way thru. Scott was a madman on stage, with his megaphone. Matt's double bass drum was so loud, I could feel the floor below me vibrate. I was maybe 10ft from the stage. Slash, just tore the shit up. He is amazing. One of my idols for a long time. Duff looked in the best shape I have ever seen him. "Remember this from our old band", then Duff hit the opening bass chords to "It's so Easy". The place just exploded. Everyone sang the words. Killer versions of all the Velvet Revolver songs, and "Sex Type Thing" was incredible. Weiland jumped off stage, and I got right along the guard rail, and was able to touch his shoulder. He got up in the seats, and started talking a little bit about Rock N' Roll and politics. After a few minutes, the rest of the band kicked in, and he finished the song from the seats. Great cover of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here". The lighters came out for that one. Before the first encore, Scott came out on stage real pissed off. I don't know what happened back stage, but I guess Velvet Revolver went over on their time limit for the show. So Scott comes out and goes, "This is fucking Bullshit, we came here to Rock N Roll for you". "So were going to play 2 more songs, and pay out of our own pockets for you." Matt then comes out and starts a drum solo. He played the entire intro to "You Could Be Mine". The place went fucking nuts. Then Slash appeared with the top hat and busted into "Brownstone". Killer version. I had a blast, and hope to see these guys again. They have brought back some serious Rock N' Roll that has been missing for some time. Hell yeah!

Thanks to Mike: I thought the show rocked, opener, What can I say. They have 3 songs I'm sure someone out there liked them and I guess they did warm up the crowd a bit but so did the beer and that's were most people were during the set. The Arena did look kinda empty with the seats in the rear empty but with general admin on the floor I still think it was a very well attended show, granted they are from 2 major bands and the show should have sold out. The arena holds 10,000 and I think maybe 7,000 to 8,000 people were there. For a Monday night, new venue doing shows it was ok. Anyway it was great to see Bridgeport coming to life and the energy level in the building was on. Velvet Revolver played well and even had to pay to play longer. It took some time for them come on and the show went past the cut off time. They still had 2 songs to play so they paid to extend the show. High points Wish You Were Here into You Got No Right and Sex Type Thing when Scott came into the crowd. Very cool show.....

Thanks to Margaret: Awesome show! Hoobastank was hot!! Velvet Revolver rocked!! It was so cool when Scott came into our section..he is so f*cking cool! I def wanna see the band again..don't forget about Connecticut come back soon! Keep rocking!!

Thanks to Tim: This was my 6th Velvet Revolver show and it keeps getting better and better..they added 3 new songs to the setlist and one being Wish You Were Here which rocked!!

Thanks to Tricia: There definitely weren't enough people at this show. I'm not sure if it was because it was a Monday or what, but it definately wasn't full enough in there (especially considering how great every seat is!). As far as things go - I LOVED the show. My mom works in one of the companys that have a box so I went too and was in one the boxes (perfectly even with speakers!) and I do have to admit, I wasn't completely excited to be going, but once things got started (and Hoobastank got off the stage) it was great! And as far as Scott's little speech at the end about not needing to play the songs from the old bands...it does make sense, but we just can't help that we love that stuff too. The lights and stuff were awesome and really got things moving. I think I'd have to say my favorite parts were Scott going into the audience (that whole speech rocked!!!) and the cover of Pink Floyd. K, thanks for the great time. YOU GUYS ROCK!

Thanks to Mike Canavan: Velvet Revolver hit the stage an hour after the opening act (9:30) and proceeded to get the crowd going right from the first note. The sound suffered somewhat since the back 1/3 of the Arena was empty. Don't know if that's a problem all along the tour, or just this date.

The band was tight and really gave an enthusiastic performance. My only gripe was that each song built it's own momentum, but then that momentum came to a crashing halt during the 1-2 minutes between each song where it seems everyone would change their instruments, or discuss song selection. (Don't know what the discussion was about - they have done the almost identical set throughout this leg of the tour so far).

The song selection was what was to be expected - with of course the two GNR and two STP songs being standouts, and the crowd favorites by far. During Sex Type Thing, Weiland ventured out halfway into the crowd with a small army of security and proceeded to lecture about "mutual respect" when one fan got a little too close. Then he went on a rambling rant about politics and freedom. The whole thing was eerily similar to Axl Rose's past
on stage rantings, but that's part of what makes this band unpredictable and a little dangerous. Along the same "deja vu" vibe, Weiland came out for the encores saying how they "should not have to pay for the sins of the past - this band is not Guns 'N Roses". "We are paying money out of our own pockets so we can give you a full show" (since they were running 1/2 hour overtime - the show lasted until 11:30). He seemed to be angry at the venue for the delay in getting on stage - but I truly do't know what the issue was that he was venting about.

I give this show about a 7.5 out of 10. That being said, I would go see them again in a heartbeat , with the hope that they could keep the momentum going for the ENTIRE show with all these great Velvet Revolver, GNR, and STP songs, and not kill it with the long pauses and (the little bit of) incoherent ranting in between.

Thanks to Weeg: Couldn't believe the place wasn't full. That's because Bridgeport is getto. Anyway, long time STP fan thought they kicked ass. Band sounded great. Not for nothin but Scott is one of the best frontmen around. Lots of energy from the band but the crowd sucked. Thanks to Velvet Revolver for staying till 11:30. See you At Jones Beach. Maybe PNC too, Later

Thanks to Steve: Velvet Revolver played just under 2 hours. The song list from above was excellent. Riffs were load and clear, no distortion. Slash's leads were recognizable throughout. Mr. Brownstone, It's So Easy were crowd pleasers, Wish You Were Here was played from a double neck Gibson guitar. Scott Weiland's vocals were good. Teasing the crowd somewhat. I was pleased. The $40 bucks for the tickets were a steal. I doubt that those prices will be the same the next time they tour. The only negative thing was when they left the stage after there second encore, Scott left quickly while the other members of the band were still on stage. Kinda rude but I guess he's rock royalty now after he's paid his divorce off and is out of rehab. I hope he can stay straight for the rest of his bandmates cause they deserve his input for at least a couple more cd's!
Three Thumbs Up! And that go-go dancer does kick ass!

Thanks to McNair: I can't put into words how great the concert was by Velvet Revolver. Hoobastank was nothing more than a joke. I was right next to the stage on the right side. I was crushed by the guard rails but it was perfect because Slash was right in front of me. They did seem to run on a half-empty tank but they did something I did not expecpt.

Not sure if anyone knows much about the arena but at 11 PM no matter who the artist, they go off the stage. Come 11 they just finished You Got No Right. This was already the second time they came on stage. They came out a third time to finish up with Mr. Brownstone and Slither, a few friends of mine said how Velvet Revolver was already going to come out a third time and they were just acting like rock stars saying F*** You to the people who were trying to shut them down and they were paying to perform the last songs. The thing is my friend didn't know at 11 PM you are supposed to end the show and they did end up paying around $10,000 at the end of it.

They may be on half-empty tanks but they still give everything they got. They did not have to come out and perform more, hell the show wasn't even sold out. It was really humble for them to do that.

Being right next to the stage I couldn't hear the music that well, it's common when you are right in front. Slash was a funny guy, he would finish most of his cig and throw it to a front row audience member and they would try to catch it but they would drop it because it burned them and he would point and laugh.

When Scott Weiland came off stage to go into the audience for Sex Type Thing, I got a high five because I was the third person in line, it was awesome. There was a fight where I was though, between people who thought Scott Weiland sucked and was great. Through out the show I got a glance from all the members of the band even the drummer. It was a great time, I enjoyed hearing the Stone Temple Pilots songs which is one of my favorite bands and hearing Guns N Roses.

The concert was amazing, I couldn't hear crap but I knew every world. The lighting was pretty decent, the strobe lights blinded me a bit but well worth it.

The concert was amazing, Velvet Revolver ROCKED! While Hoobastank put everyone to sleep but entertained all the little girls because as I heard from them but feared to look, the lead singer got a woody on stage as the show went on. Best ROCK concert I've been to in a long, long time!

Thanks to Steve Smith: The area tried to stop Revolver from playing. The band had to pay for the last 2 songs out of their own pockets. They can't kill rock and roll.

Thanks to Canadianwolf: All in all it was pretty good. Hoobastank acknowledged that they knew that the only reason people were there was to see Velvet Revolver. I thought that Velvet Revolver did a great job, but was getting annoyed by Scott constantly using the stupid bullhorn. Everytime he started to talk in it, it gave a feedback that I felt was noticable over the rest of the instruments and microphones.

Thanks to Alex Buck: First of all Hoobastank took the stage right at 8:00pm sharp. Although I was really looking forward to hearing these guys live, it is apparent that the studio does wonders on the lead singers voice. For example on The Reason the singer sounded awful not even attempting to hit some of the notes on the studio recording. I was very impressed with their lead guitarist but there was little in the way of band style or vibe. Their studio CD is awesome with some very catchy tunes on it. However like the last guy said, I felt that the lead singer was trying way too hard to dance around and please the audience.

Velvet Revolver took the stage at 9:41pm after they showed an opening video introduction of the band. Everyone looked great with the exception of Dave (The little guitar player) who looked a little out of place on stage with the likes of Duff, Slash and Scott. At one point everyone took their shirts off but Dave. Not to sound homo but in the mood of rock and roll and style Dave lacks the look. Slash was in rare form nailing every lick and looking like he was enjoying himself. The person that really impressed me was Duff who was just jumping all around the stage from side to side. He really looked like he was having a good time! Scott looked a little dazed and confused and somewhat out of touch I felt with the audience. At one point he ran out to the crowd and gave a mind numbing lecture on rock and roll. I understood what he was saying but it was a little blurred and garbled in his delivery. His basic message was we are here for you and you are here for us. At 11pm the band was told to quit but Scott and the boys refused and came out to perform their encore #2. Scott came on the mic and said "I want you all to understand that the f'ing union has told us to quit but "F" the union. We are here for you and we are going to pay them out of our pockets to play two more songs. What I thought was weird was at the end of these songs a roady came out and wrapped Scott in this big blanket and excourted him from the stage without any goodbyes or without saying thank you to the audience. Slash, Mark, Duff and Dave all waved, threw out picks, gave out drum sticks and shook hands. Scott was no where to be found and never came back out. This gave me a cold feeling. One thing that Scott said to the crowd however that made some sense during the encores was "this is not your Guns and Roses Show". Meaning we showed up and rocked the house for 1:45 minutes. Not an Axl escapade of showing or not showing and if he showed giving 15 minutes and before leaving the stage.

All in all this was a great rock and roll show! I sorta wished they would have done some recognizable GnR songs but I understand their reason not to. The lights, sound and visuals were great! The crowd was small with a ton of open seats in the back and plenty of general admission standing room on the main floor. Like the last guy said, Toy Story 2 or the Muppets on Ice has outsold this show 2 to 1!

Tickets were $39.50 which I thought was a bargain to see two well known bands.

Hint: Hold off buying a shirt for $40 inside because after the show the same shirts were $10.00 on the street! The gift shop sucked with very limited stuff overall.

Thanks to Amber: Oh my god. I must say, when my dad told me to see this show, I wasn't so excited, because I didn't listen to Velvet Revolver all that much. But once I got into my seat, after seeing a few posers from my school and a really cute guy sitting behind me (Who didn't really seem to be into the music) not to mention the crappy live music of Hoobastank, I was excited when Velvet Revolver actually got on-stage. They were FUCKING AWESOME!! The best part, I must say, was when Scott (who is DEAD fucking sexy) came out into the audience. Why was I so happy? Because he picked right where I was sitting. He was 1 foot away from me for 10 fucking minutes talking about Bush and pot, hah. I almost shit my fucking pants. I was so mad I didn't bring a camera, HE WAS RIGHT THERE! I could have touched him.. yeah.. if I wanted to be knocked out by the 10 bodyguards holding onto him for dear life. Great show! I was really impressed! Now I'm a Velvet Revolver fan. =]

Thanks to Mike: I purposely came late to avoid 'Stank, but I was unfortunate and caught their last two songs. Oh well... Overall Velvet Revolver put on a great show, there were some mixing mix ups, song changes at last minute, and Scott kept going back stage for either new monitors, mic, performance enhancers. It was, for the most part, a pretty solid performance that I would be happy to see again, just get a better opening act, shall I suggest Nsync?

Thanks to Some Kid: Awesome! BEST concert I have ever seen! Scott came in the crowd for Sex Type Thing for 10 minutes and ablibbed! IT WAS THE BEST! Slash WAS ON FIRE!

Thanks to Saint Marquis: OK... For starters.... Why is HOOBASKANK opening this tour? If I had to watch those idiots dance around for one more song I was going to scream. The only thing entertaining was watching the lead singer stumble and trip every couple of minutes then try to play it off. Dude. We saw you. You tripped.

Also, could have done without the constant showing of the Knievel's Wild Ride commercial. With the sound at apparently 11. I also do not want to see the video and hear a song by the headliner 4 times in the commercial before I see the band actually play it.

As for Velvet Revolver.....

Quite an impressive show. Lighting, stage and multimedia were superb. The band was tight though I do think I heard Slash hit a couple of clinkers. But hey...It's rock n fucking roll, right. Duff was amazing. Matt really holds the band together... And the little guy playing rhythm guitar was quite entertaining.

Scott. Well. Scott seemed to be Scott. The sound mix wasn't great but he seemed to sound good. When I got close to him out in the audience though his eyes had a very strange thousand yard stare.

The audience. What little there was. Barely acknowledged Hoobastank (Good for you!). But seemed to enjoy the Revolver.

But to see this band performing in a half-empty hockey rink seemed to cast a pall over the evening.

These guys were in 2 of the biggest bands of the last ten years. And Toy Story 2 On Ice sold more tickets.

Note to the promoter... ADVERTISE!
