Thanks to Sam: Besides the crowd bein a bunch of lameasses the show was the shit. I had high expectations but they surpassed them. They were just as good as GNR was performance wise. I was mainly just disappointed with Matt and Slash not really havin a special solo spot but I can't blame them I wouldn't have done it, the crowd was mostly a bunch of drunk inbred rednecks.

Thanks to Erin: Without a doubt the best concert I have been to yet! I went to go see them first in December at HOB in SC with my best friends, then this one. Unbelieveable! We got into the soundcheck and talked to Slash, Duff and Dave and got their autographs before the show! They were all really nice too! I would have loved it if Matt and esp. Scott could have been at the soundcheck too, but I am not complaining! The concert had already been a dream come true and they hadn't even played it yet!

Chevelle opened for Velvet Revolver. That's about it. I thought the bass player had some pretty crazy skills with his slides and such...some of their songs sounded really similar, and I coulda sworn they played a song twice...but obviously I didn't go to see them!

Nearly 45 minutes after Chevelle finished, like the calm before a storm, Velvet Revolver came out on stage and tore the place to the ground! Their performance was amazing and on top of it all my friends and I were front and center, and were only a matter of feet away from the band when they stood on the speakers! It's too bad the set list was so short, but it was the most incredible moment when Slash and Scott covered Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd! Most def one of the most amazing nights of my life!

This barely scratches the surface of the true experience, but enough of my rambling, if you wanna see one fucking hell of an amazing show....go see them live yourself! I've gone to two of their shows and this one isn't going to be the last!

Thanks to Rob: I have seen a lot of great bands like The Who, Aerosmith, Kiss and Robert Plant...but Velvet Revolver was just as good if not better than all. I was blown away. They rocked really fuckin hard. I'm still in awe. Fourth row proved not so bad. Anybody think that Slash screamin "Fuckers!" before he ran off stage in a really high-pitched voice, was funny besides me?? I laughed my balls off. If you haven't seen Velvet Revolver...WHAT THE FUCK ARE U WAITING FOR!?!??!?

Thanks to Josh and Cory: Chevelle started at 7:30 and finished at 8:30. They played Red, Forfeit and alot of new stuff. Velvet Revolver came out a little late because half of them were sick. You could tell Scott was a little horse when he talked but he still sung great. They played everything from the new album except for Lovin the Alien and Spectacle. They did two GNR songs- Mr. Brownstone and It's So Easy. And one STP song- Sex Type Thing. They also did Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. The show ended around 11 due to noise restriction.

It was the best show I've seen yet. Hope to see 'em again.

Thanks to Julia: This show was FUCKING AWESOME BITCHES! Of course it was it's Velvet Revolver! I got VIP tickets with my best friends and we actually got to sort of meet Dave, Duff and Slash. It was amazing. Life changing experience definetly. They kick ass to da max. I mean I actually fucking talked to Slash and Duff and Dave. Oh my god. It's still like a dream to me. All I could say was "Hi" and "Thank you" for their autographs. It was trippy crazy. [thinks about it] tehe... and the show...no words. So good. They couldn't play as long as the last time I saw them but still I was hoping they would play Crackerman but I was totally satisfied. I almost got all teary eyed when they played Wish You Were Here. Cause this is like one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs and here my favorite band is playing it and I was with my best friends and it was just amazing. Great show once again. I LOVE YOU Velvet REVOLVER!~~~~~~~a warm hearted mother fucker from the fucking south.

Thanks to Lady Your Roof: I was at the show too. It was rainy and chilly. Our seats weren't primo, but they were under the pavilion cover, so that was a tremendous help. Near the beginning, Scott said he'd like security to allow about 25 more people upfront; said it looked too much like a dinner theater. That was amusing to me. It was very much worth it to brave the elements. The GN'R songs were Mr. Brownstone and It's so Easy. The whole thing was high energy and intense, just as you'd expect. I will see them at Merriweather Pavilion in a couple of weeks.

Thanks to Velvet Revolverfan_101: Saw Velvet Revolver in Raleigh last night. We had the 5-star VIP package and it was worth every penny. We were escorted to our tent and given 4 free drinks each and free food as well. We hung out there until soundcheck.

The soundcheck was cool - Scott and Matt were not there - Matt's drum tech filled in. They jammed a while and then played Suckertrain. After the soundcheck, Slash and Duff came down to the barrier where we were all standing and they signed autographs. They didn't have to do this and it was very cool.

As for the show, it was great except for the fact that it was freezing cold here in Raleigh - I mean like 50 degrees at show time. The band only played a little over an hour - probably because they hated the cold. They played the normal set - 'Wish You Were Here' was really cool. They left out a few songs from the album like Illegal I. They also only played one STP song - STT.

All in all it was worth it for the money - the weather sucked and the band probably thinks Raleigh sucks now because of it. Oh well - there's always Charlotte!

I should also mention that we won a nice prize at the VIP party - a long-sleve pullover - went for $50 at the merchandise counter. Also, we caught a drumstick from Matt.

Later!

Thanks to Heather: I just want to say that both Velvet Revolver and Chevelle put on a great show. Unfortunately, much of the audience seemed lifeless -- maybe because it was cold and rainy. I was on the lawn and could barely see, but I still couldn't have rocked any harder!

They played Sex Type Thing and for that, I owe my life. Have a good day.

Thanks to AJ: Well, Slash and rest of the crew of course were awesome however, when you pay lots of money to see a band you expect to see a full show. It was very cold, rainy and windy and the show should have started around 9:15'ish but didn't start until an hour later and ended around 11:15. Myself and a lot of other fans feel like we were ripped off! Probably over 75% of the fans including myself will be sick as a dog because we were soaked and freezing for so long. It would have been more worth while if the show hadn't been cut so short.

All in all, the band was great, the experience sucked!

Thanks to Michael Petilli: I am from Raleigh, North Carolina and I was reallly excited to see Velvet Revolver. A bunch of my friends and I went to the pit. When Chevelle came on it was pretty boring, Chevelle isn't that great. When they finished they said get ready for Velvet Revolver, who were supposed to come on at 9:15. However, for reasons I'm not sure of they were like 35 minutes late. However when they came on they were simply amazing. Duff stood up on the speakers and started the bass line for STB. Scott Weiland came on with a leather jacket, sunglasses and a hat. They finished the first song and Scott looked at the pit and claimed it was more like a dinner party rather than a rock concert. He asked the security guards to let in like 25 more people and then it got fun. They quickly went to their next songs and played excellent. Scott was singing excellent. Slash was shredding his guitar and playing amazing solos. Duff was walking around strutting his great bass stuff and Dave played like no tommorow. Matt Sorum also played amazing drums with a solo near the end. Closing to the end, Slash came on with his double neck guitar and they did "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd. They played an amazing show, showing special emphasice to Slash's amazing guitar skill. By the end of the night eveyone had an awesome night, the fans and the very talented super group.

Thanks to Mark T.: Vocals, bass, drums, let's see....what's missing? Oh yeah, THE GUITARS! This was one of the worst sounding concerts I've ever heard in my life. The problem has been addressed show after show and it still hasn't been fixed. The only excuse I can come up with is that the soundman is related to someone in the band (or one of their wives).

Thanks to Taylor: Velvet Revolver is the greatest band I've ever seen! Their amazing in concert! There were only 2 problems....the weather, which was about 50 degrees, windy, rainy and miserable! And that we had to wait an hour and 15min before Velvet Revolver went on stage. Other than that...THE SHOW WAS GREAT!!! There's no special theatrics, just some lights, cool logo in the back, and "mother fuckin rock n roll" as Scott was saying the whole time!!! They all performed sooo well!!! I don't know if it could of been better! When Velvet Revolver does a show near you...go!! It's definetely a show you will NEVER forget! Each member does a great job on stage! I'd love to see them again ANYTIME! They're all so awesome! The Electric Wonderland show!! One of the best tours on the planet!

In my opinion...I've seen both Velvet Revolver and KISS live. KISS has better theatrics because well...their KISS. But I think Velvet Revolver has a better show and just make you want to rock out as hard as possible! If you thought the album was great already....it's even BETTER live!! To put it simply...Velvet Revolver KICKS ASS!!

Thanks to Tyler: Of course it was excellent...once they got on stage. Chevelle opened the show, but we had to wait two hours in the rain for Velvet Revolver. One of the most energetic and crazy crowds I've ever seen.

Thanks to Biss: FUCKING AWESOME! Me and me friends got five star VIP tickets and actually met Slash, Duff, and Dave. They tricked us by saying Matt wasn't gonna make it but he made it and he rocked the mother fucking house. Just like all the other guys. I went to the 12-07-04 show @ HOB South Carolina and it was very different at the Raleigh show than at HOB. At HOB, it was more a crowd-band connection. In Raleigh, it felt more like I was connected to the band personally. We had great spots on the barricade right by the center of the stage and had a great vantage point. Everytime Duff or Dave would jam up on the amps in front of me and my friends, they would look down at us and smile. Duff even giggled once (more of a chuckle). It was crazy! It was so crazy, I'm going to have to go and calm down before I can write any more. It was just all so unreal!!!!!!!!!

FUCKING AWESOME SHOW GUYS! and thanks for the opportunity!

Well I've calmed down a bit and I am back! Hey Taylor, sorry but that wasn't a fuckin Kiss show. Velvet Revolver is Velvet Revolver and love em the way they are. But anywho much respect to you for going to the concert. Well I loved Scott. He had so much energy. I loved the whole leather jacket and bra thing he did. Dave: YOU ARE SO CUTE IN PERSON. Holy shit. But the show was so great. At soundcheck, we talked to Slash and he was talking about how hot it was and it was so awesome becuase he was so close, I saw the sweat drip out of his hair. With a great set list and some mad skills from all attributes of the band, it was an amazing show. I loved it when Scott yelled, "Hey security guys... roadies! Get some more people down here!" and also when he exclaimed the south was cool or what not..."Well we're in the fuckin dirty south! You guys are some warm hearted mother fuckers. and I tell no lies!" It was so damn awesome... I love it! Hey guys hire me and me friends as roadies! PLEASE! Love you guys and what you do!

Thanks to Joey: Velvet Revolver rocked. They played to the crowd, did almost their whole cd, two GN'R, Sex Type Thing and a cool Slash/Weiland redition of Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here. Can't wait for Charlotte.

Thanks to Bobby: Holy fucking shit, Velvet Revolver was fucking awesome! Chevelle was really shitty, and we had to wait like an hour and a half in the rain until Velvet Revolver came on, but it was fuckin worth it!

They opened up with Sucker Train Blues like always, and as always, it kicked ass. A couple of songs weren't played like 'Crackerman' and 'Used To Love Her' but it didn't matter that much.

The first encore was awesome, Slash brought out the double neck guitar and did some cool ass soloing before going into 'Wish You Were Here.' After that they did 'You Got No Right' which was really good.

The 2nd encore was Mr Brownstone and Slither. Only 2 words can descibe it: FUCKING AWESOME!

During the show, Scott told security to let 25 more people up front cuz it looked like a dinner party and not rock n roll. He was really fuckin awesome, exactly the way rock n roll frontmen should be.

The highlights of the show were Sucker Train Blues, Set Me Free, Mr Brownstone and Slither. I can't fuckin til they come back. In fact, I think I'll drive my ass to the Charlotte show in 2 weeks to see them. This is the way rock n roll should be.

Thanks to Rick: Went to the show. Got up front. It kicked ass! They are great! If you like rock, you gotta go!

Thanks to Dollie: I couldn't wait to see the show. Slash, Scott... I've seen them both, several times in the past. I expected nothing less than an excellent show.

Chevelle opened right and put on a decent show, right on schedule.

After standing in a cold, cold rain, waiting for the band to come on, they finally came on stage almost an hour late at 10:15. Since the Alltel Pavilion is in a semi-residential area, all performances have to end by 11 or the performers have to pay an outrageous fine of like $10,000 for every minute past 11.

This was possibly the shortest lead act I've ever seen. I'm more than disappointed. I thought it was a little ironic that we could hear the strains of their last song "Wish you were here" as we were pulling out of the parking lot.

Thanks to Julianne Barsness: I thought that the concert was bad ass, Scott put on a hell of a show, so did the rest of the band. I hope to see them around for along time. I loved STP and Guns & Roses. Glad to see Axl gone and the rest rock on. Missed you Scott, glad to see you back and doing well. I would pay any amount of money to see them again. Take care and rock on. Love you guys. Congratulations!!!!!!

Thanks to Brandon: Velvet Revolver rocked hard, but the weather was really awful. It rained throughout the entire nigh, and many including myself, were sitting in the rain waiting. But when Velvet Revolver came on it was of course worth it. They opened with SUCKER TRAIN BLUES and it was nuts. They played a few new songs from the Contraband album I hadn't heard before- Superhuman, You Got No Right and Dirty Little Thing- they sounded great. They also played a great version of Wish You Were Here, with Slash on a doubleneck guitar- half acoustic half electric. Slash did an acoustic solo before for a few minutes and it was great. They closed with a long jamming version of Slither. Overall, Velvet Revolver crushed it. I was not disappointed.

Thanks to William: WOW! That was mindblowing. They did an amazing job. I love how they worked with the crowd and seemed to be having a really good time. Scott especially worked with the crowd, playing with the jacket and the bra and telling 25 people to move in towards the stage. That show was really really good. As Mark said, a true rock and roll show. One of the best concerts I've been to, although Chevelle was completely horrible in my opinion. One of the guys I was with described them as "slit your wrist music." I'm sorry to say I'd have to agree. Other than their performance, I had a great time at the show and I really really want to see them again.

*HIGHLIGHTS*
Dirty Little Thing!
Slash's solo behind his head
Wish You Were Here (WOW)
the bra (hahaha)

Thanks to Bret: Velvet Revolver went on almost right at 10:00.

Let me start by saying I really am a big fan of this band! This was an up and down show for me, it started off great! All the way up to the first encore was really good! Then they did That Floyd tune and You Got No Right, these two songs for me were a complete trainwreck! It was just awful! I hope they stop playing these 2 even if they usually play it better! Thank God they came back out after that! I think they knew they had to make up for it and they did, they came back out for the last 2 songs and they ROCKED IT OUT! Slash was not at his best in my opinion but still pulled it off! He had a couple of really good solos! Brownstone solo was Awesome! Scott did a pretty good job as well, however his mic was a little on the high end and a little feedback as well. Matt, always rocks the drums. The show was great, the sound quality was awful and the weather nasty. So to the bands credit it is a bad place to hear a rock show and it had to be COLD on stage. It was windy and raining at out door venue. Let's hope the recording session the day before (here in Raleigh) went well! It was a much nicer day! Hope we get to hear the new single soon! It was pretty cool I got to hang out and talk to some of there roadies at the studio before they recorded.

Thanks to Matt: Velvet Revolver wouldn't have had to cut the set short if they had come on stage before about 10:15. Other than that the show was great, if I may say again, the show. The fans sucked, no other way to put it. Scott was right, it was a whole lot more like a dinner party than a rock n roll show. Yes it was cold and raining, but even under the roof people were just standing around with a "show me something" attitude. Velvet Revolver fans should be thankful we have Scott and not Axl, if it were the GNR frontman a song or two after the "dinner party" remark, the set would have been cut REALLY short. The two band members who I knew the least about impressed me the most. Slash, Duff, and Matt were great as expected, but Dave and Scott really showed me something.

I was dissapointed Matt's drum solo didn't last longer, same with Slash's guitar solos. The best song of the night was probably "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd, the song that got the crowd going the most was definately "Mr. Brownstone"--another reason I was dissapointed in the crowd was the fact that they didn't know many of the new Velvet Revolver songs. C'mon guys, the album has been out for what, almost a year now? Go get it and learn some songs so we're not accused of looking like a "dinner party".

Little message to Velvet Revolver: please come back to Raleigh sometime, I promise we'll be better next time.

Thanks to Simon: Started out rainy and drizzly. Chevelle was on, they were good, for what they are. However, I was there for one reason only: Velvet Revolver. Had to wait an hour between Chevelle and Velvet Revolver. They finally came on and kicked major ass. Definetely one of, if not the best, concerts I've been to.

I about lost it when they played Sex Type Thing. Damn, they smoked through that. Wish You Were Here was kick ass. They sounded tight and kept the show energized. Can't wait to see them again. A few people were surprised that they played only for about an hour plus. Two things kept them from playing longer in my opinion: the dumbass noise ordinance (had to be done by 11pm, which, they played passed HAHAHA) and only having one album under their belt. Hopefully, they will get out a new album by Xmas. Then, maybe, we will all be treated to a longer show. Anyway, I had no complaints, other than getting wet and freezing my ass off. Still, wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Thanks to Shawn: The show was just insane. Chevelle kept people happy for the start, the worst part about the night is that Velvet Revolver took a little bit to get started with their performance. But it was worth the wait.. when Slash came out with his double neck. Everyone knew he was going to kill it.. he pretty much just acoustic soloed for a while playing bits and pieces of Patience which thrilled the GnR fans out there. And Matt hittin out a crazy drum solo.. what suprised me the most is Velvet Revolver playing, Wish you were here by Pink Floyd. Other highlights were Slash playing behind his head.. etc..

Thanks to Peter Delorier: This show was fuckin awesome, only the second show I've been to cause I'm only 15, but they kicked way more ass than Van Halen did (the other show I went to). Slash was fucking amazing, pulling the guitar behind his head on one solo and "Wish You Were Here" was absolutly awesome. My favorite song of the whole night was "It's So easy", Velvet Revolver's version was way better than Guns N Roses. I never wanted the night to end. I will be attending way more Velvet Revolver shows in the future. Fuckin awesome guys, you really know how to Fuckin rock n roll.

Thanks to Drew: The guys were running a bit late tonight. They went on around 9:55pm and we were wondering if they would fit the set in. Well after a wait of about 80 minutes here they are. Just a great show all around. High energy and the band was into the show from start to finish. The band even made sure people were asked to fill in the empty seats up front. I have never seen that....very cool and they seem to care about the audience, wow rare in the rock show. It was a rainy and cold night in Raleigh and the lawn was a bit barren. It reminded me of the Def Lep concert last year, rainy and cold. Rock done well like this should reap rewards in album sales and look out Ozzfest. Cheers boys...well done.

Thanks to Kevin Craver: They went on 45 minutes late so the crowd was getting pissed off but when they finally took the stage they didn't stop rocking out. Scott and Slash are amazing together, and combined with the other 3 members they are an awesome rock band. It was really one of the better shows I've ever seen in Raleigh and I hope the keep making music and come back soon.

Thanks to Mark: The set tonight got cut a little short; probably because of local noise restrictions - no music after 11. Lame, but there it is. They finished up around 11:15. Set was similar to other recent shows - except no "Illegal I" and no "Crackerman".

After about 2-3 songs, Scott told the security to "let about 25 more people down into this area in front". He said it felt like a dinner party instead of rock-n-roll. During Fall To Pieces someone threw a jacket onstage - they just missed Slash. I'm sure Slash noticed - it flew right by him. But he didn't seem to care at all. Just kept jammin out his solo. Scott walked over, picked it up, and put it on. Then threw it back in the crowd a couple minutes later. A little later Scott did a kind of a lasso routine with a bra that ended up on stage.

Highlights were Slash's solos in FTP and DLT. Absolutely, exactly, how all rock music should sound and look. Casually spitting on the stage while still totally engrossed in his solo. There's nothing quite like it.

Slash was also jumping on and off various pieces of stage equipment. His hair following a foot or so behind him. Awesome.

Dave seemed really into it tonight. I saw Velvet Revolver about 5 months ago and the biggest change is Dave throwing his guitar all around. Minor miracle it stayed attached to his shoulder strap.

These guys are authoritative, edgy and authentic. Hard to imagine a better live show of any kind. Absolutely mind-bending. Wish I could see them again tomorrow.
