Thanks to Somebody: This show was fricking awesome!!! Slash was playing behind his head!! THEY KICKED ASS!!! This concert was awesome, but why again was Hoobastank there? Anyway, the show was awesome, best time of my life and I will definalty see them again! Scott even came out into the crowd!!! Slash was the best, it was so awesome, I went insane when the band came on stage. I love GNR and STP and I love Velvet Revolver, you guys ROCK! RIGHT ON!

Thanks to Moneyman: Got to the show ready to rock. Skipped Hoobabestank. Who booked them to open? Since I had seen STP 4 times and had caught GnR "orchestra" stadium tour w/Metallica, my expectations were high. Velvet Revolver comes out kicking. It was funny to Slash fall down and stay down and not miss a beat. It's all about the MUSIC. It's always great to watch Slash play. What Scott lacks in crowd interaction he makes up for in stage presence. He's one of the best out there now. The songs were all tight. These guys are pros. Great show, one of the few worth the $.

Thanks to Katie: It was the best!! It was my first concert and I'm SOOOO glad it was! I thought I was going to die...rock legends of my generations just feet away! They put 110% into it and I loved it!

Thanks to k vaden: Awesome show. One of the best I've ever seen. Was disappointed they didn't play You Got No Right, but still loved it. They ROCK.

Thanks to Courtney Devores from The Charlotte Observer: Velvet Revolver, the supergroup-of-sorts featuring Duff McKagan, Slash, and Matt Sorum of Guns N' Roses and former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland played to an enthusiastic, if not large crowd, at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre Sunday night.

It was the group's first Charlotte show since releasing their #1 debut, "Contraband" last June. The fans who did show up, especially those in the first twenty rows were thrilled to see members of their favorite 1990s-era bands back on stage in full rock n' roll regalia.

Hitmakers Hoobastank warmed up the crowd with a 45 minute set of heavy rock radio hits and their smash power ballad, "The Reason."

Velvet Revolver took the stage shortly before 10 p.m. with McKagan wearing a leather jacket and black pants, perched at the edge of the strobe-lit stage playing the bassline to the grooving dirty rock of "Suckertrain Blues."

Vocalist Weiland appeared writhing about the stage in a pilot's hat, skintight black bell-bottoms and a red satin shirt. With every song he removed another piece of clothing, leaving him shirtless by the fifth song.

Rhythm guitarist Dave Kushner played his low slung green ax like a machine, while lead guitarist Slash soloed on a number of colorful six strings, including what appeared to be his classic sunburst Les Paul from his Guns N' Roses' days.

Weiland called the audience, "Southern folk," before launching in to "Superhuman."

"Do you know what brought this band together," the singer asked. "We traveled the same nasty road, the same dark alleys in a town called Hollywood."

While most of the set featured Velvet Revolver originals from "Contraband," they delighted the crowd with the double header of Guns' "It's So Easy" and STP's "Sex Type Thing," during which he ventured into the crowd to rant about the evils of the music industry.

After concluding their set with "Set Me Free," they returned for a bluesy encore of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here," Guns' "Mr. Brownstone," and their own hit "Slither." For fans who had never seen Guns N' Roses, Axl or not, the Guns and STP moments were a special treat.

Thanks to Austin Harwell: This show was so cool. I can die a happy man now that I have seen Slash play. For 25$ you could not beat it. You could tell that Slash and Scott were "under the influence." Especially when Slash did a karate kick against his amp and fell over. What amazes me the most is how even when he fell over he kept playing his solo and was still on beat. Can't wait for further shows...

Thanks to Sunny: Velvet Revolver rocked in Charlotte! I have been a Guns 'n' Roses fan my entire life and seeing Velvet Revolver was a dream come true. Slash and Duff were amazing and their stage performance was unforgettable. I also love STP's Sex Type Thing and one of my favorite parts of the concert was when Scott came into the crowd and sang with us - his fans. His energy was contagious! They finished with Slither and it was such a powerful performance. They are all so talented and seeing them join forces and produce their own sound was incredible. WOO HOO!

Thanks to Terry: Of course Scott is a very charismatic on-stage, but to see him run through the crowd, stand in the crowd, and then have the crowd sing along with him while he was in the middle of them was a nice touch. Was my second time seeing them and expected about the same experience, but they're definitely like fine wine getting better and better. They working like a well oiled machine right now and I dare anyone to compare.

Thanks to Rebecca White: This show was amazing. It started off with Modarn Day Zero, then Hoobastank heated it up a little. As usual Velvet Revolver took plenty of time before they came on stage. But that just made it better, their 30 minute delay got all the fans even more excited. They took the stage nailing "Sucker Train Blues", the hour and 45 minute show was the best ever. The fans never stopped screaming, Slash impressed every one of us with a 15 minute guitar solo. Scott Weiland kept the crowd on there feet and jumping every second. When he came down to the audience, he came down on the side my sister and I were sitting on... my sister (the lucky one) got to touch him!!! She grabbed his hand, I was soooo close to him, sooooooooooooooooooooo close but security knocked us out of the way. :(:(:( They sang Pink Floyds "Wish You Were Here" oh my god..one word...wow!! It was the best show ever. I love Velvet Revolver rock on!

Thanks to Calie: The show in NC was AWESOME!!! Velvet Revolver ended with Slither with Slash (sigh) on his doubleneck Gibson S.G. They came on at about 9:30 and finished @ about 11:30. WHAT AN AWESOME CONCERT! I'll have pictures soon, but they aren't developed yet.

Thanks to Abby Shuler: I don't remember the setlist, but the concert was out of this world! It was loud and great. I don't think any concert that I'll go to could top this one.

Thanks to Michael: I have a two word review for this show, BAD ASS. Just an incredible night of high energy and electricity. They don't call it Electric Wonderland for nothing! They had me from the opening strains of the Clockwork Orange theme!
The GnR and STP tunes thrown in were played with a ferocity I haven't witnessed before. The new songs were just incredible!! Maybe because it was a Sunday night that the place was well below capacity. Didn't matter. Velvet Revolver played like it was a stadium. Worth every penny and then some.

The Who said Rock and Roll is dead. Judging from these guys is is alive and well.

LONG LIVE ROCK!!!

Thanks to SwordsmanGM: Velvet Revolver put on an awesome show last night. It was the first time I've seen them and I'd see them again for sure. Slash got the biggest reaction from the crowd when he got on the mic and talked to the crowd. Velvet Revolver and Modern Day Zero were both way better than Hoobastank, although their joke about Journey was pretty funny. The Whole Lotta Love cover by Modern Day Zero was awesome, their singer did a decent job, but their guitar player nailed the solo. It was pretty cool that Velvet Revolver didn't rely on STP or GnR songs, although I wouldn't have minded hearing one STP song to go with Mr. Brownstone. Great show, can't wait for some new songs and another show!

Thanks to Allen Godley: The show was great. This was the 4th time I have seen them, including both New Year's shows. They didn't play too many covers. They played the whole album. Wish you were Here, I can't remember the GNR and STP songs, but they were great. They went on about 30 minutes late. That's about it. But it was awesome. Can't wait to go to Ozzfest, they play there again.

Thanks to Bobby: This concert rocked, the set list was the same as the other shows that have been played. They sound so good live. During Sex Type Thing, Scott ran into the crowd, I was up close in section 2 I thought I was going to get trampled. Slash did a long talkbox solo that rocked, Scott is truly a rock and roll superstar. I will try to write more later.

Thanks to Chad: Wow what can I say. The show was just amazing. Being my first Velvet Revolver concert experience. Show went great. Hoobastank came out around 8 and played there set. Very good show I thought. First time hearing them live. Velvet Revolver came out bout 9:30. Duff stood front stage opened up with his bass line from Sucker Train Blues. Highlights from the show. Fall To Pieces. A lot of lighters and rocking back and forth. Scott going into the crowd telling everyone to show him the respect he showed them by asking to give him 3 feet while he ran into the crowd. Got everyone wound up to end STP cover Sex Type Thing. A lot of Slash jumping around stage and a lot of awesome Slash solo's. Another highlight was him bringing out the double-neck to play Pink Floyd's Wish you Were Here. They ended the show with Slither at bout 11:15. Great show Velvet Revolver. I hope to catch them again next time they come through.

Thanks to Eric: This show was more than I expected it to be. Velvet Revolver was so awesome and Slash is a guitar god. If you have seen the show already then you know what I am talking about and if you haven't seen it yet then your in for a kick ass treat. But there is one problem, why in the hell was Hoobastank playing at that concert. I felt like I was watching a GAP ad. The first band Modern Day Zero blew Hoobastank off stage.

I hope Velvet Revolver keeps jamming forever and I hope they come back to North Carolina soon. Cause believe me, I will be there.

Thanks to Natasha: All I can say is WOW!!! What a FREAKING AWESOME rock concert!! Velvet Revolver is THE BEST ROCK BAND around!!! They sounded awesome. They played most of Contraband and also songs like "Wish You Were Here", "Sex Type Thing" etc. Scott even came down into the crowd during Sex Type Thing and I got to touch him (woohoo!!!) I will definitly go to see them again!!!!!
