Thanks to Marisha: This show was amazing! I was front row and dead center, right in front of Scott. I loved every minute of this show. Everything they played, including the covers, was awesome... I don't know why some people were disappointed by certain songs. I only wish it was longer! I would have liked to have heard some more tracks from 'Contraband'. Oh yeah, and Matt also gave me his drumstick! (I told him to give it to me because I had a pretty face, haha). Anyways, it was a great show and I can't wait to see them in concert again!

Thanks to Lipper821: Some superbands just get together and play and not much else. From the minute I heard "Contraband" I knew these guys practiced and practiced until they got it right!! Tues nites show was Excellent!!

Scott looks healthy and happy and sounds great, Duff is Duff, cool and steady, Matt just keeps bangin away, Dave was all over the place and having fun, and Slash, well he was playin those guitars like he was teaching each one a lesson-pure power, with little effort, just too cool, he looks great, and real buff!! They enjoyed themselves, the new stuff was good, not everyone will like every song but most of them are cool..Vasoline was hot!! I see only bigger and better things for these guys-can not wait till the late summer/early fall tour!

Thanks to jimmyfnjones: From the get go....a stellar performance from Let It Roll to Slither and every note in between. High points were Slash's choice of t-shirt this night...SBQM, Suckertrain Blues, It's So Easy, Vaspline, to Slither and just about everything in between. Something to be said about Nokia...a great place to see a show very classy and to have your head kicked around by velvetfuckinrevolver for roughly an hour and a half only to be set loose in Times Square is really sweet. A premier performance by the only supergroup left on the planet. Can't wait for them to get back from Europe!!!!!

Thanks to NY Post: Velvet Revolver pulled the trigger on a killer concert at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square Tuesday. The band, risen from the ashes of Guns N' Roses and Stone Temple Pilots, has finally fulfilled the greatness promised by its three-year-old debut CD, "Contraband."

Ex-STP frontman Scott Weiland brings the snarling vocals, while GNR's Slash provides the slithering. Add to that one-two punch the Gunner bottom beats of bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Matt Sorum, subtract the drugs and alcohol (we hope), and it made for a terrific night of music.

At past shows, like last summer's Jones Beach gig, Revolver seemed like two bands on one stage.

No longer. When its new album, "Libertad," drops, appropriately, on Independence Day, Revolver will be poised to elbow rock music back into today's hip-pop mainstream.

This show was aggressive, opening with "Let It Roll," "Do It for the Kids," "Suckertrain" and then "Super Human," sure-fire rockers all. It was an avalanche opener: The familiar songs re-tuned the audience's ear to the Revolver sound, priming them for the new "Libertad" compositions that followed.

Weiland clearly has IT, and now that he's not doping, he doesn't look like a sickly skell - he's actually buff. Shaded by his pilot's cap and avaitor sunglasses, the bare-chested Weiland moved like a young Mick Jagger while displaying the vocal command of Iggy Pop. Certainly Slash was in fine form, playing his guitar leads with unique physicality. During the new tune "Just 16," he strangled the neck of his guitar with his left hand as he jabbed the strings with his right with pure menace.

VR also dished up a powerful, chilling cover of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here," while a version of Talking Heads' "Psycho Killer" was just OK.

This road-test warm-up for an upcoming tour promises that when the real thing comes to town this summer, it'll be a don't-miss affair.

Thanks to mikesig: VR was awesome last night - it's always good to see some real rock and roll nowadays. Couple of random points:

- The new stuff rocks. Gotta give the nod to She Mine and She Builds Quick Machines as the top two new ones performed last night.

- Can't say I agree with the majority of folks here that are running down Psycho Killer. I thought it was a great way to mix it up and get the crowd singing along. Perhaps it would be better placed earlier in the set, though.

Thanks to VR fan 88: Jeez this show was awesome. The Actual...I can't stand..not rock music. Bassist was good but he looked like a weird guy. Anyway, I was on Slash's side too...he was right infront of me...talk box n everything...it was great. Everyone came over to the right side...Duff even moved down the stage where there were no lights at all it was awesome..and Set me Free has to be one of the best songs they do live. Just with the solos back n forth...sick. Scott was on today..I want that jacket!!

That was my first time seeing a show at Nokia and it's weird...there's the floor, then a second floor that puts you eye level with the band (I was there) then behind that is stadium seats WHO WOULD WANNA SIT?

Well they exchanged "Used to love her" with "It's so easy" but the rest was the same but the band was FULL of energy.
And at the end Scott threw us all a kiss.

Can't WAIT for August and AIC!

Thanks to I i Illegal i: Yea, just got in, sweet show.. was about 3rd row on Slash' side. I got 2 disposable cam's in b/c I didn't wanna chance it with my digital, so I'll have those 54 pics developed tomorrow or Thursday. Also loved the shirt Slash had on "Fuck You Very Much".

Awesome show, sounded great and Just Sixteen really is catchy. That song and Get Out The Door are awesome. SBQM and Let It Roll are real great. Let It Roll realy gives an energy boost. Psycho Killer I'm not crazy about but thats just a cover that'll hopefully get dropped once the summer comes and they have the album. Believe it or not, I can't get into The Last Fight much. The chorus is cool. I think it has to grow on me. She Mine is a cool tune, lovin' the chorus. I think I covered all the new tracks played. It's So Easy was nice, better for the mood than Used To Love Her. Curious to see how the set is goin to look once the album is released after they return from Euro. Cut Psycho Killer, try some new tracks, mix up the new tracks, and rotate some from Contraband now and then, because I don't think a song like Headspace is done, it'll be back. I hope Illegal I comes back as well, along w/ DLT and You Got No Right at some point mixed in.

I love this band, VR is just great. I've been seriously addicted for a few years now, and just feel like VR is flowing in the blood.

Thanks to Paulski: Was at the show as well in NYC last night. What can you (or I) say - a real rock show on a Tuesday night in New York City. They were great, they always are. Pure energy from the get go.

I have seen them about 4 times, first at Roseland before Contraband was out. This was their best show - period. I personally think Nokia is a great venue, would highly recommend it. I was about 9 rows back on Slash's side (the other side is lame - sorry) near a steal support beam. Crowd was solid and fun while not too annoying for general admission. I would never go back to Starland where I saw them once last year - I live in NYC so I am biased but Starland was not cool imho. The crowd in NYC on a Tuesday is just much better. The place did get VERY hot because it was so jam packed.

I thought Big Machine rocked, basically my favorite song and I liked how they played it last night. It's so easy was great as well. My only critisim is I wish they would differentiate a bit for a NYC show - maybe throw in one more GnR tune - give the fans what they want. PK is a lame song and Wish you were here is fine but come on if you cover, play GnR or STP. That is my only gripe.

As far as rock bands and concerts - no one even comes close today. They rocked the place from the start to finish - except for PK which I thought was lame right before Slither.
