Thanks to Wayne Madden: I feel sorry for the Australian fans because Velvet Revolver at the Ambassador last night was an amazing show, and the band put on an energetic performance from start - a rather late 9.50pm GMT - to finish. Mostly the album 'Libertad' was played, although there was always time for some Guns N Roses covers (namely 'Its So Easy', 'Mr Brownstone' and 'Patience') and we heard some of the best material from their 2004 debut 'Contraband' including 'Fall to Pieces' and 'Sucker Train Blues'

For anyone whose not been in the Ambassador before it holds about 1,000 and is similar in look to the Brixton Acadamey in London, Scott, Slash and Duff got very up close and personal at several points during the gig and its always great to go to a gig where you can be in reaching distance of the performers. At the end of the evening Duff walked over to me and threw me his bass plectrum, which makes for an amazing souvenir.

The only critcism I have (because the delay was blamed on Scotts faulty mic which was prob a ploy) is that the band seemed very detached from each other. Previous performances of VR have seen both Slash and Duff do a fair amount of interaction and they hardly said anything at all. When the band were thanking people at the end of the night it was only Matt and Scott who spoke, Slash and Duff almost disappearing offstage in a hurry. Scott himself said virtually nothing during the gig which isnt exactly unusual, but you got the feeling that something might have happened backstage.

With all the reunion rumours its likely that this could well be the last VR gig I will have the pleasure of seeing in a long time. If thats the case then Im glad to say its been a great ride, a well deserved wait and I look forward to a 3rd album should we ever get one.

Thanks to Sarah : this was definatly the best gig i have ever been too, they were on fire!!! i got to meet the band earlier in the day and they were so nice it definitly made my day getting a hug from Duff....i cant wait to go see them again!
